Seems good, I like the interface, familiar but different. The Graphics also look good. i remember them saying they wanted to go 3d with it, but I wasn't sure how good it would look. This has certainly raised my hopes. My only small gripe would be that it'll probably mean I'll have to get a better computer to play it, but that's a personal gripe, I'm sure by now a lot of people have the necessary rig to play it on.

The Gorillaz, one would presume.
Its a fancy action select interface thing going on in that screenshot. And I like the style (and resolution) of the background.

I wouldn't get too worried Joshi, unless you're on an obscenely outdated machine. The concept seems to be the same as that in Grim Fandango and EMI, in that the 3D characters run around a 2D background; the only difference is that in Vampyre Story 2D artwork is evidently used instead of pre-rendered 3D.
As such, your graphics card will be focusing all of its power on rendering the characters and objects, meaning it can squeeze a lot more detail/beauty out of them thanks to not needing to render the entire scene like in, say, Sam & Max.

Well that's okay considering Sam n Max seems to be working (well, just about) on my machine. I've had this for about 3 years now, which isn't that old, but is starting to show it's age.

So 2008 for this one huh? With my luck, Autumn Moon will decide to make it console-only. :-\

The PC release is definite. There was some murmuring about there maybe being console or handheld ports, but nothing has really come of it yet.

You mean the Tiller Chat? Yeah, I sadly missed that too. Was watching the Extended Edition of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and completely forgot.
Oh, and Bill's blog on the Autumn Moon website has been updated. Check it out. It's mostly about the new staff members who have joined, but there's a paragraph about AVS's progress at the top. Very encouraging!

That's *so* 2002. Narnia is the way to go now if you wanna be *in*
Anyway, I've been meaning to watch those extended editions for ages and never got around to it. Was it good?

Yes! Takes bloody ages though. The film comes on two discs - each disc is about the size of a normal-sized film, so I just watch one disc a night!
They do add tons of cool stuff from the books, like a large 'Concerning Hobbits' beginning to Fellowship, and the proper ending to Helm's Deep where a living forest gets revenge on the fleeing orcs. ROTK is the best Extended one though, adding the incredibly creepy Mouth of Sauron, the Witch-King versus Gandalf, and the proper Saruman scene at Isengard.

Proper?! He didn't die in Isengard, you know. With the overlong ending ROTK had, they could just have played those scenes at normal speed, added the bit with Saruman dying in The Shire, and the movie would still be at the same length. :P

Well, ok, proper in film terms. He didn't even die in the first version.
I'd have hated to be the poor guy that told Christopher Lee that he was being killed off early in ANOTHER final part of a major film trilogy...

HA! I managed to turn an upcoming adventure game discussion, into a geeky Tolkien battle!
The Sam wins again! Oh man, I'm so evil.
I guess the best character in LOTR (Tom Bombadil of course) does not make an appearance even in the extended thingie. That's just one of the few things I can criticize for the trilogy. The other changes are more or less understandable.

I do love Narnia and Lord of the Rings. But I'm afraid I'm more of a Narnia/C.S. Lewis fanboy.
And also A Vampyre Story is going to blow our wigs away with its awesomeness!

This is exciting! This year just gets better and better! I'm really pumped for some of this year's games. Apart from Sam and Max the last game I bothered buying was MGS3 (played some others, though - Shadow of the Colossus = awesome). This year I get to play Sam and Max Season Two, FINALLY get to play Psychonauts, Insecticide, Brutal Legend, Penny Arcade Adventures and A Vampyre Story! There's some other mainstream games I got but haven't played yet (ICO) and I'm happy MGS4 is coming out. I'm HAPPY!

Brutal Legend will NOT be out this year. I bet on it.
How come you're only just playing Psychonauts now?

I hope it will. It's one of the reasons I'm even BOTHERING with "next-generation" (bahahahaha) games.
Umm I didn't have access to it. Crappy PC, no Xbox and no way to get the PS2 version locally, and it would have cost me an arm and a leg to get the PS2 version shipped to where I lived, at the time. I really wish I could play the Xbox version, mind. Hopefully I'll manage to update my PC just enough to play the free Gametap version.
