Well, that's a different person, and besides, that game is a total buzz kill. High praise, high hype, totally mediocre in the end and no fun.

Good thing: I'm going away to our summer log cabin out in the Finnish wilderness. 5-6 days of comp-free time should do me good. Maybe I'll finally have the time to read The World Without Us, when I'm not out playing with big guns and fishing.

Well, pretty much. But that game sets you up. Looks great, great reviews, ends up being a big disappointment. At least that was my experience, I literally hated that game until I traded it back. It was hardly next gen when it came out, feels like an XBOX game with better graphics. But everything looks like it's made out of plastic, controls are stiff, and it's constantly blurry. Motion blur was used way too much in this game, whenever you turn your look, it blurs noticable, which was a huge distraction and just made everything hard to see.

So what you're saying is, even though someone else had played the game you got, and had a really negative experience, and relayed that to you...It is still different when you had a really negative experience with a game someone else got and relayed that to them?

Nah, but ET you see TiE has like a bazillion posts in this thread and most are about some new video game he just got, so that makes him the foremost authority on all video games ever created. It's really simple, you see.

Wow, talk about awesome. Anyway, I'm gonna be a dick all I want- Perfect Dark Zero sucked to me. But hey, just like VF5 is okay to me and total **** to Grooves, it may end up being alright for Rhett, and that's fine.

But anyway, I haven't watched this video yet, but in case ya'll didn't know, Game Trailers is doing retrospectives on all Star Wars games... and they just made one about Kyle Katarn, you know, our favorite video game hero?

Anyway, here's the link, I'mma watch it now. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35912.html
Edit: Holy crap, it's 21 minutes long! Ohmygawd.

New toy:

Lenovo IdeaPad Y510. My father works for IBM so I got a nice deal on it. Pretty good specs too, better than my desktop at least.

Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 1.83GHz
2 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 8600M GT

Came with Vista Home Premium installed. I haven't used Vista before extensively so hopefully it will work out with everything I want it to do. I don't think the IdeaPad is known very well the way the ThinkPad is but it seems like a good machine so far and most reviews I read were very good.

Watch-it kids, record in the making...

About $75 dollars, 900 Goozex Points, and three weeks later:

That's six, count'em, six games... and I haven't played any of them yet. :V

The first four games I got used all together from one seller for around $73, shipping included. I ordered them June 17th, was shipped June 25th, and arrived from the far-away land of North Carolina on July 12th. So yeah... wait was pretty much teh suck on that. I got it back in the "holy ****, I'm rich" week of my 18th birthday.

And I got Gurumin and GRAW2 for 350 and 550 points, respectively, from Goozex with the $1 trade credit.

Oh, almost forgot:

I got Schizzoid and will pay for a lot of Rock Band DLC in the future. Got Working Man (Vault Edition), worth it even though I already have the other Working Man DLC.

I LOVE that song! Best bit of the film is during that song when he bursts through the door.

Cool, you'll get to hear the original Lyrics of the Arabian nights song, with "Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face; it's barbaric, but hey, it's home." ( they didn't think that was politically correct, so it was replaced on the vhs with "Where the sand is immense and the heat is intense; it's pathetic, but hey, it's home")

I support "No Child Left Standing"

Woah, only just did the tutorials in Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (my first Syphon Filter game), and holy crap does it look good, looks like an early but good PS2 game. The controls are manageable, but just screams for the PSP to have a second analogue stick. The face buttons act as the second thumb stick, and the D-pad act sorta as face buttons. Looks promising, though.

Matchbox 20 Owns.

Rob Thomas solo, however, is simply okay. Only one of his solo songs I don't mind, but the others annoy me because they have way too little actual music and way too much backup singers that are mixed just as/louder than him. As a longtime Matchbox 20 fan, I was dissapointed with his solo work.

Rob Thomas solo, however, is simply okay. Only one of his solo songs I don't mind, but the others annoy me because they have way too little actual music and way too much backup singers that are mixed just as/louder than him. As a longtime Matchbox 20 fan, I was disappointed with his solo work.
I hadn't really listened to Rob solo much before, actually - although of course it's hard to avoid hearing some of the songs on the radio. Still, it's definitely a good cd and worth a listen (or two, or three!).

Okay teekay, if you say so!

I've never played the game, but the art sure is beautiful.
