To each their own, of course, but it's just a little too whiny for me. And all the songs sound too similar.
(Grammatically speaking, shouldn't it be "To each, his or her own"?)

I'm just more of a heavy/speed (there's a difference!) metal guy rather than alternative rock.

Listening to Tire Swing by Kimya Dawson. It's from the Juno soundtrack, which is my recent music obsession, for the sheer fact that the songs sound so amateur... plus Cat Power's 'Sea of Love' cover is amazing.
"A few times in my life I've had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds, the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I've lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be."

I would be listening to Control by Puddle of Mudd and according to Pandora.com which I am using to listen to it, this song is a song that features Hard Rock Roots with mild rhythmic syncopation. Basically it's an amazing rock and roll song.
I like it because it has good lyrics IMHO and some great guitar and drums and what not.

Brahms' Violin Concerto in D Major beats it for the epicness prize; especially the third movement (which was used to muche applause in There Will Be Blood and many times perform'd) but I have unsophisticated ears, I just go for "oooh, pretty."
Edit: I rewatched The Big Lebowski the other day and now I can't stop listening to Looking Out My Back Door by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Damn you, Coen brothers!

I'm listening to a lot of Stemage right now. Best, most epic heavy metal EVER! If you don't believe me, listen to Star Ninety-Six. But his side project, Metroid Metal, is worth taking a look at.

You say you don't want to start a flame war, yet you obviously do.
Anyway, my girlfriend loves Coldplay. She was talking about getting tickets to one of the concerts on the tour later this year. She would smack you silly if you said that to her.

What am I listening to currently? The Last Samurai soundtrack, by Zimmer, a truly wonderful score, in the Gladiator category, some tracks are chilled out, others have that epic battle kind of feel - simply a beautiful piece of work.

Gripe/Point 1: Please don't butcher the English language like that if you are a native English speaker (which you have to be as no foreigner ever butchers the English language like that).
Gripe/Point 2: You have just flamed Ender.
Gripe/Point 3: Start an argument with Ender, and you may well find you have made several more enemies by proxy.

I'm currently listening to Ben Harper's Burn One Down off of his Fight for your Mind album.
A great song about personal choice and exercizing personal responsibility. While the subject matter may be controversial for some, I find it to be a great expression about the culture in which I surround myself when partaking in such activity. I enjoy a peaceful and relaxed enviroment.

Sorry when I stepped away from the computer my sister evidentially posted what I had and then quit so I never finished, Sorry again.
Streamline - Newton - Techno - has good beat, when I go fencing (the sport) my freinds usually play this because it is fast and catchy, love the whistle part at begining.
Gravity Hurts - ??? - Rock - sweet song that my younger brother found love the melody, lyric are good and make sense. This is my "pump up" song in track before I run 110m & 300m hurdles.

1) Shadow Gallery - Rain (Acoustic Version)

3) Spock's Beard - Devil's Got My Throat Revisited
4) Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Queen Of The Winter Night
5) Bouncing Souls - Sing Along Forever
Pretty mixed bag there actually.

Heh... yeah.
It all depends on the recording and performance when it comes to Bach, though. Not everybody does Bach quite the same way; and where and how this piece was captured, and what pipe organ it is performed on do make a lot of difference. I have a couple of different versions of that single work, and they are all different. None of them quite what I would call "definitive" however... still looking for that one.
But, usually, when I'm in the mood for truly "epic"... I break out the Stravinsky, Holst, or Wagner.
A great recording of the Firebird Suite or "Mars: Bringer of War" through a killer sound system are hard to beat.

Hmmm......
Right now I'm listening to the Yes Album by Yes... How to sum up this album...
I really enjoy it, the songs are different from each other which is very nice so it doesn't feel like you're listening to the same song over and over. About the only song's I'll get mixed up on it are I've Seen All Good People (When it's in the near end part) and the beginning of the Guitar Solo on Starship Trooper.
Anyway, if you have the cash, and see a copy of it, don't hesitate to buy it. It's a great album despite (or possibly because of) it's age.

Cry of the Brave - DragonForce
This is one of the best song's DragonForce has made (I'm not saying it's THE best, just ONE of them). It's a very fast paced song that gets you both revved up and feeling a need for speed. The killer solos and speed playing make it a great listen for those who love fast paced music.

Couldn't agree more (and you may have guessed by my avatar that I'm actually a bit of a fan...) unless possibly if you had said Close To The Edge... Which is the perfect album.

I'm bored, so I have a list of songs that I leik:
The Real Slim Shady - Slim Shady
A great song, for Rap that is. What? Hey, its better then that god-awful Soulja Boy or the Jonas Brothers.
Popsicle - Innocent Bystanders
Reminds me of my Relationships, and how they were ruined. Heh.
Under Wraps - Innocent Bystanders
See above. Except without the cheating part.
Through the Fire and Flames - DragonForce
What can I say? Its a song made of (almost) pure win.
No Handlebars - Flobots
A bit of rap, and a bit of jazz. One of the real good Rap songs, that actually have a message.

A very godd cover, and I love it almost as much as the original, very well done cover, holds true to the original, but gives it a new twist.

Chris Cornell definitely is one of the best vocalists. Too bad, Audioslave is now defunct. They were, and still are, one of my favourite modern rock groups.

Tartini - Devil's Trill Sonata, 3rd movement
It's one of the few songs that sounds different every time I listen to it.
It is all that is left unsaid upon which tragedies are built.

I am listening to the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Minas Morgul....oh, and now Demon Hunter.
I'm enjoying the Minas Morgul song due to the amazing Opera-like vocals done by choir present at the studio. It just adds such an amazing feeling to the Dark-rider theme.
Demon Hunter has some awesome vocals as well, they're practically my favorite Heavy Metal band due to the way they play and the interesting turns in the vocals.
 you very much
