Olympic fever
Hey everyone now that the Olympics have started and are under way I was wondering if everyone is watching and have you caught the Olympic fever.
Also on the NBC 4 Olympic website there is live streaming which I think is awesome, unfortunately, it only works on certain computers.

OF COARSE I'M WATCHING THE OLYMPICS! How on earth could I miss that georgousness??
"A few times in my life I've had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds, the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I've lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be."

I have permanent Olympic fever. I love the games, and I watch them every time they come around. The opening ceremonies were tremendous. Phelps is an amazing swimmer. The American Men's swimming relay shattered the world record last night and managed to edge out the French--just unbelievable.

I saw that too!!! I was yelling at the top of my lungs, (during the final 50m) "C'mon you can beet him! GO! GO! GO! (pause as both teams touch the wall) YEAH! WE WON! NO WAY! YEAH!!" It was just an amazing comeback I can't wait for the other swimming events and for Track and Field.
Note: I also have permanent Olympic fever. I know more about olympic athletes than any other sport. You could sort of say I watch the Olympics religiously.

That was unbelievable. Maybe individuals won't be making any more comments in the future about smashing the competition before it happens. Only USA Basketball has that right.

OMG Phelps goes for two medals tonight, and two world records. He now has the most gold medals ever (11)!!!! WOW the relay team broke 7 minutes in the 4x200m. NICE NEW WORLD RECORD!! Phelps basically won the 200m freestyle with his eyes closed because of his goggles.
I feel so bad for US women's gymnastics but hey China won it fair and square.

I watch them while having lunch if they're anything good, but my mom always changes the channel to some lame reality show or soap.
In any case, I'm glad India got her first individual gold medal for anything. It's about goddamn time.

Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson got revenge yesterday, so all is well. Those judges kept trying to find ways to deduct points and get the Chinese up there. Don't say they weren't trying to do that.

Going for number 7 tonight I believe. Wonder how much of the Star-Spangled Banner is getting stuck in the heads of everyone at the Water Cube. I think it cut out once early, and everyone started laughing.

Yeah, there was some sort of controversy about it, the Serbians didn't like the outcome or whatever, even though the touchpads in the water can't lie! (or can they?)
The women's soccer team plays Japan, I think, so that should be a good game. The U.S. has apparently never lost to Japan in 21 matches (plus we beat them earlier in these Olympics), so hopefully they do fine.
I'll be watching the men's basketball team play Spain. The women's team obliterated them yesterday.

I've watched every single one of Phelps' races with my girlfriend. I've also seen a good amount of water polo, a lot of beach volleyball, some gymnastics, and a touch of handball.
One thing that I can't watch is track.

I saw that, in fact. It stopped right at the end. I wasn't laughing, however

Oh, anything electronic can malfunction. They just went to the camera to see whether or not it looked like Cavic won, and it was obvious that Phelps out touched him.

I honestly couldn't tell...from the angles I got, it looked like they touched at the same exact time.
The men's basketball team took care of business easily against Spain...can't believe people actually think these teams can somehow challenge them.

I want to rectify myself. I dunno if it's because of the late hour where your tv shows doesn't need to be postponed or cancelled, or if something changed with me, but this year Olympic games aren't half bad. Probably because you're not obliged to watch the sports you don't like.

True dat, it was way to obvious that Phelps out-touched Cavic (the underwater view made it clear). Oh and did you know that Cavic's coach is going to Ann Arbor? He is a Dumb @$s I bet he will be fired because he just challenged Michigan's most decorated alumni.
Also Usain Bolt ran a 9.62 in 100m, unfortunately Tyson Gay could not get through the semis

Ya but evidentially people are doubting that he did it without drugs. I true-fully think that he is fine, and that this is like the Serbian coach saying that the touch board were wrong in the 100m butterfly (the people are sore losers).

There's always people out there that are going to accuse others of using drugs in sporting events. Maybe once they come up with some proof should we think about their allegations.

It's like you double posted, except in 2 different forums.
Spain will bring it's A game, but it won't be enough in my opinion. Kobe, LeBron and co. just toy with them for the first 2 quarters, then go all out in the 2nd half.
