This is gonna be a rather long post, and alot of it involves WoW, but bear with me, last night was the greatest night ever.

Six or seven months ago we got a new tank in my WoW guild Bumble Bee Tuna named Echo, or as we later got to know her as Stephanie/Stephers. She became a really good friend of basically everyone in the guild. But maybe a month after joining, her account got hacked, and Blizzard wouldn't give it back to her cause she broke the Terms of Service. So she gave out her MSN address so we could stay in contact with her. About a month or so ago she started a new account and started playing again (though sparsley as she had recently become a mom).

Now while I talked with her over MSN, I came to find out her then current now ex boyfriend is a psychotic abusive a**hole. I can't begin to explain the a**hole-ishness of this guy. He broke up with her after he found out she was pregnant, even though it was his kid. After they broke up she explained to me that he was telling practically everyone she knew what a horrible whore of a mother she was, and trying to (and actually suceeding with a handful) to turn them against her. He even told her that he would take her to court, and get custody of Blaylon (her son), even though (and I remember this explicitly) "I don't give a s*** about that kid, I just don't want you to have him."

Now fast forward to about a month ago. I'm laying down watching Casino Royale on my laptop, when I get an IM from her on MSN. She told me John (another guildy) said her ex wanted to transfer his character to our server and join the guild. He said it was because he wanted a more casual raiding guild than he had before (which we are, we get s*** done but are pretty laid back). My first thought was he was just trying to get into her head and/or try to turn us against her. So I hop on and, in order to get him to stop bothering John, tell him he'll have to wait for either Duds or Ishota (the two main guild "leaders") and talk to them. While talking with him, I could tell that even if he wasn't her ex, I wouldn't let him join. We tend to value personality just as much, if not more, than skill. And I could tell he wouldn't last more than a day without fighting with someone. For f***s sake, he said "lawlbawl" regularly.

Later that night she IM'd me again. He messaged her and said "I got your family your friends and now your wow guild on lock, no-one is really your friend are they?" I was then pissed at myself for being so civil to the guy. He later that night called the cops, and said he felt his son was in an "unsafe environment," because a week prior her cousin dropped her baby, and she ended up having to take him to the hospital. When the police arrived, there was only one person that believed her. If he hadn't they would have taken Blaylon then and there. Thanks to him, they didn't, and only would if her story didn't match up with what she told the doctor. I was then extremely pissed I was civil to him. There's a special level in hell reserved for this douche.

The next day I logged onto WoW and was immediately messaged by Sir A**hole McDouchebag. This time, I wasn't civil. I told him to go f*** himself, get the f*** out, etc etc, and then put him on my ignore list. I felt a little better about myself. He's still a prick, but at least I got to tell him to f*** off right?

Later on, as I was talking with a guildy in vent, I look down and see that someone invited him to join the guild. So I took him off my ignore list, and told him through guild chat "Haha, no, you sir get the f*** out," booted him, and re-ignored him. I knew though, that this wasn't the last time he'd try to get in.

Fast forward to about a week ago. I'm running a heroic instance with guildies, and we're all chatting in vent. I'm not even looking at the guild chat window. All of a sudden one of the people in vent messages me and says "are you sure that's steph?" I checked my chat log, and sure enough, someone joined saying they were steph. Right about then, she messaged me on MSN. So I asked her if she created a new Orc Warrior, and if she was on right now. I already knew the answer. I knew that douchebag would sink to that level. So once again, I got to tell him to f*** off, booted him, and ignored him.

Afterwards, she hopped onto vent as well and told us that she had gotten a temporary restraining order on him. I told her if it happened again I would make him pay.

Thursday afternoon I hop onto WoW, and hop into vent. We were getting ready to run a 10 man raid. As we're waiting for people to hop on, I see in the chat log "Stephers has been kicked out of the guild by Jolten." "Envyx has joined the guild." "Jolten: Wow steph would you hurry up and pick a class already, sheesh! : P"

Red flags right away. She messaged me again, not more than 3 minutes after this happened. Once again I asked her if she started a mage, even though I already knew the answer. This time, not only did he impersonate her to get into the guild, he got her character kicked out in an attempt to hurt her (later proved when he said: "You really think she's gonna want to come back after she finds out she got kicked out? Lawlbawl.") This time, I got 5 other people to simultaneously tell him to f*** off, and booted him. But I remembered she had gotten the restraining order on him, and decided to not ignore him this time. This time, when he started messaging me, I started baiting him. I was just hoping to get him to say his name.

If you'll follow the pink text, you'll see that the results were glorious. I got him to not only admit his name, but also his purpose of harrassing her and trying to get in contact with her. I immediately IM'd the screencaps to her.

Last night, I get an IM from her. Turns out, thanks to my baiting and his sheer idiocy, my screencaps were enough to get him immediately arrested and thrown in jail on charges off harassment and breaking the restraining order.

I had always hoped he would get locked up. I never in a million years thought it would be thanks to me.

There is justice in the world...

That's awesome, Bongo. I had no idea that you could use online chatting against a restraining order. Seriously, dude. Congrats. He seemed to really deserve it. Glad you got that all settled out.

It's amazing what kind of crazy ****ers you can find on the internet.

That is sheer awesome, Bob. Just the fact you were able to get this guy thrown in jail from screenshots is amazing. Kudos to helping your friend, and for, hopefully, making her life safer/better.
