[WIP] Male Jedi Robe Replacement [K1]

Ahoy!

Here's a little mod i've started working on, and thought it might be nice to get some feedback from you guys, before I get too far in.

This mod will replace the male Jedi robe model with Jolee's default clothing model.

So far, i've got what I think is the finished brown robe replacement, and i've made a start on the red one.

Here's what I have for the brown:




And i'll try and get the red robe done by tommorrow evening.

Any feedback is appreciated.

What does it look like from the side & back? Does it still have the bulky hood, or is it flattened down?

Yeah, it still has the hood. (That's something I was always disappointed the original robes didn't have) even if you can't "use" it...

That looks great. I'll be interested to see the Dark Jedi robes. Also are you gonna do an appearance.2da edit so you can see the hands? 'cause I'm tired of seeing gloves

I'm fairly certain that appearance.2da cannot control the gloves/hands, because they are part of the model that uses the same texture as the body.

I meant having separate textures for Caucasian, Black etc

Umm.. No. Many people (me included) find having to switch files in and out every time they switch a PC colour annoying. So these robes will be gloved.

Despite what I said earlier, i'm looking into making three variations of each texture, to fit Asian, Black and Caucasian PC's...

I've taken the pics of the red robe out of this post, as i've just updated the texture. You can find the new ones in one of the next few posts.

it would be easier, but I think Marius wants to make the mod more unique. All it would take would be some extra appearance editing, IIRC

All it would take, is a different copy of the tetxture (each with a different skin colour) which you need to swap in and out depending on the colour of your PC.

No appearance.2da editing is involved in this mod at all.

Ok, I wasn't really 100% happy with the red texture, so I chatted with Quanon about it a little bit, and i've done a bit of tweaking.

Here's the result:

Great Hope it looks good. As I don't really want to have it replace the normal robes(even though these are better) I'll probably have to do some 2da editing for personal use.

Looks great Marius! I like the darkened grey, I had to remember if it resembled the "Dark Jedi" that you fight in KOTOR though, as I never used there normal skin(Primes Mod). But this is great Cant wait to wear it.

You sure are speeding through this mod arn't you. By the way I was off school today too due to windchill.

Asian and Caucasian are close enough that you shouldn't really need separate textures. You certainly can do them if you want, but you do so at the risk of making your download prohibitively large for those on dialup.

If you decide to put these on NPCs as well, you may want to consider making a "green hands" version. Also, my "ambitious" robe mod should provide a list of all the utcs you'll need to edit.

Ok gang, i've decided once again, to go gloved. It's just easier all round, and nowhere near as fiddly. (Less chance of compatibilty issues too, I think.)

Also, here's the blue robe:

My 2 cents: the accessories should match.
Boots, gloves, belt, and epaulets should all be the same color.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but for some reason, the belt seems to look... "Wrong" when I alter its colour to that of the other 'accessories'...
