The product in question was a spyware removal program called Spysweeper. I had used it in the past, and it worked pretty good. When it started conflicting with my regular anti-virus software, I disabled it, and then forgot about it. They never used to have this "auto-renewal" function which is a serious load of crap, and a great way to scam money off people.

Bad thing turned good:
Remember my speaker/soundcard problem I spoke about on my last page?
It magically fixed itself. I reinstalled the drivers and had jiggled the card and cleaned the dust out of my computer and swapped pci ports and messed with the cables, and nothing worked. So I gave up on it. I was actually going to purchase a new card within the next week.
Then, I open iTunes because, even if the sound sucks, I need something to listen to, and guess what. It sounds crystal clear.
Life is strange, sometimes.

bad thing: i revealed to my parents that i am dating someone 16 years older than me. kept the secret 3 weeks and 2 days. talk about devastation!
Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Lets see... The bad...
I quit my band, I lost my house, had to sell my hot rod, then I found out my wife had been cheating on me. In the process of getting a divorce, the wife gets the kids, and the kids get my dog, and, as if that wasn't enough, in January, my dad died.
What do I win?

The irony is I left the band in support of the wife. She spent the extra cash for the house payment on other things. I gave up the hot rod to support her better. Then she called me boring. Geeee I give up the two things I am passionate about, and suddenly I become boring... Gosh! How did that happen...
Why do women do that? They convince you to give up something that makes you who you are, and then complain that you're boring afterwards...

I wouldn't say all women are like that, this might seem to you to be just youthful "optimism" -- but I honestly don't believe in gender-specific faults.
I'd say she was just a weak, bad person. I give my sympathies.

I have little experience with dating men that try to change me. Seeing as how I have no experience with dating men, I stated it as such. When a woman has that experience with a man, she can state it as a man's fault.
Now, as to whether there are gender specific faults: Nothing is specific, however there are some traits that are more common with specific gender roles. Being more common does not mean it must be specific and exclusive to that gender.

Well this sucks.
Some hacker in God knows where managed to make the hard drive on my gaming rig implode, so now I have to migrate all my crap (some 200+ gigs) over to another hard drive, and that means I have to buy a whole new hard drive, and potentially, another copy of WinXP.

Or you just got a Virus, or your Hard Drive decided to take a crap on itself.
I heavily doubt it was the work of any "hacker."

Combination of both, I think. It was in the process of dying when it got owned by a Trojan the size of the Universe this morning.
You wouldn't believe the tons of Viruses, spyware, etc. that managed to install themselves in a matter of seconds, when I opend up Chrome.

You should be glad it's only 200 gigs. I've got single folders with more stuff than that. Should be cheap to get a proper size HDD, too.

No one tried to hack your computer. Trust me.
And TiE is right. I haven't had a Hard Drive that was less than 250 for years . . .

I am so f***ed up right now. I've had a sprained ankle since Monday. It's still swollen. I also have sunburn all down my arms which is now at the peeling stage. Now my office chair just broke in half at the connecting point between swiveling pole and chair part, resulting in me falling and hitting said ankle, and also taking some skin off of my sunburnt arm. Oh, and I have a 450 frame hand-drawn animation that I haven't started yet that needs to be done in less than two weeks, along with everything else in my other 3 classes including an exam in Biology. F***-a-doodle-doo.

My empire total war installation (steam) seems to have gone corrupt and ever time I try to launch it, "Steam has found a problem with your local game file. Game files will now be re-acquired from the steam servers"
Except it doesn't. And when I try to remove the local game files, it says the disk is full and I can't. (wtf) (also, it isnt)
When I try to defrag the cache files of the game, it won't, and says its fragmented 15069950% (I'm not joking)
WHAT THE HELL DO I DO

I had a similar problem with steam. I don't remember what it said the issue was, but when it would try to fix the problem it always said it couldn't find the server. The issue started happening with other steam games too. I ended out deleting steam, and had to reinstall everything, but it works again.
More info: using Vista Home Premium, 64 bit. Issue started when I had it check files in the game for errors; I think the game was Half-life II.

Maybe you can back the stuff up somehow. It may not be the same problem, I'd check the steam forums to see if they have advice.

You can back up local content either to your hard drive or to a DVD. I have Half-Life 2 and all of its assorted nick nacks on a few dvd's so I can restore them after a reformat.

Not necessarily a "bad thing", just kind of ridiculous.
In the last 4 days I have experienced:
-Flash floods
-Blistering winds
-Tornado weather
-Hail (about 1 inch diameter)
-70 degree days with clear skies
-I've gotten a sunburn while freezing in cold weather
-Snow.
It's definitely been messing with my brain.

Hmm.
I still have much spring cleaning to do. I've gotten rid of crap to find most of my stuff in the way holds meaning for me. I guess it's time to sacrifice some things.
A roomate caught scabies from one of those "honies" he has been visiting on the corner... and let it go for a while ...now the rest of us have to clean the apartment. I wish someone would beat some sense into him.
One of the other roomates looks like he's going to bail and he owes a lot of rent.
My swords are all still broken from the last guild meeting...like beyond salvage.
My tabi ninja boots also got messed up from the last guild meet... So I guess warajis or barefoot out in the woods will have to do.
My father is on his "instructive" cycle again. Like if he doesn't tell everyone just how to do it, you'll get it wrong. Happens when they get old and particular I guess. Not mean or condescending, just lecturing and chatting. Glad I'm not around him at the moment. Bah, I'll just avoid visiting my parents for the next weekend or two....or six...
My puppy is nearing maturity and has
1) really weak constitution: I fed him a little bit of italian sausage from spaghetti and he yacked up 4 softball sized blobs all over.
2) has started to 'do that thing'--time for a visit to the vet...another ~$350
My girlfriend and I haven't been together very long and she's already acting like she owns me. --we haven't *even* gotten to business yet! Pretending to be dumber than she really is and thinking I'm buying it--as if I don't notice all this stuff she's having me do, or give, or how she's stalling everything and treating me like property or a servant or something. Can't wait for *this* one to be over. They never really want anything until they know you got a pad, then they're all over you for as much as they can squeeze.
I just burned my hand with my soldering iron...happens when you're into electronics.
My recent power supply project just ended up in smoke, shrapnel, and disappointment...at least the laser head survived!
My credit card company is screwing with me. :curse: Again...
Business is slowing down. WAAAAAAY down...I hope electrician prospects and oddjobs pour in my way...or I'll have to work at Grocery Outlet--though a few buds of mine will give me recommendations. Just that with a childhood career of housekeeping I know I'm gonna be put in janitorial and kept there...and squeezed. But a job is a job and I"ll do it if I have to in order to get by.
