Compose the LucasCast Jingle - Competition
To celebrate the launch of LucasCast, we are holding a competition. We are giving you the chance to compose the LucasCast Jingle, that will be heard at the beginning and end of each podcast. The winner will recieve a unique badge, that only they will have, and noone else.
Rules:
1. We need an Intro & Outro, each must be approximately 10 - 15 seconds long.
2. It cannot contain any copyrighted material whatsoever. It must be completely original.
3. Jingle must be submitted in .mp3 format. (Save a copy of the original .wav file. We'll be needing it if you win.)
Post your entries in this thread. The competition closes Sunday 8th March, and the staff of LucasCast will decide the winner.
So get composing, and Good Luck!

Any ideas on what sort of jingle we're going for? Like, super epic glam metal keytar riff, or awesome cinematic chorus?

Anything really, doesn't matter what style, so long as it's fun and catchy.

Is there any way that the public in general can vote, instead of being a staff-only thing?

Certainly post comments on ones you like the best once we get the submissions, but I think we will choose the one we think fits with the show the best and take your comments into consideration.

How many entries do we get? Do you want a separate outro? EDIT: Can't read, sorry!
If you would like something more contemporary, give me a shout!

Alright I made a possible intro. I'll create some more within the next coming days.
If you experience any audio problems or have any ideas please let me know.
It's better than nothing I guess
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/216013
I also uploaded it on newgrounds because I didn't know where else to upload it
EDIT: Finished outro. I've been really busy and have been having writers block, so it's probably not the best in the world. I'll change whatever you want on it, make it shorter, longer, add stuff, etc.
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/219127 revised:3/7/09
NOTE: Also, I made all jingles using FL studios and Adobe Audition for editing.

Also Nedak, if you like, I used AudioStreet to put up some tracks from old bands I been in over the years. It's free, and really easy to set up.

Not to be a jack ass, but is this all of the entries? Nobody has posted in this thread for like 2 days.
We record LucasCast Episode #2 this Sunday.
Would be REALLY NICE to have a jingle ready by then...
Thanks again,
Grooveh

Well, I was told that they would be coming out ~every 2 weeks.
That, coupled with the fact that the contest ends 8 March, indicated to me that I had some time if I wanted to put something together, especially because I'm rather busy this weekend.
I'm actually not sure how you could choose a winning jingle before the contest ends
Perhaps others thought that same as I did.

Relax Groov, you're forgetting about the wonders of editing. The next episode won't be released until March 9... which means we'll have plenty of time to edit in the winning theme.
Sure we won't be able to mention the winner on the ep2 podcast, but we will still be able to mention it here on the forum and of course congratulate them on ep3.
May seem a little odd, but eh, what can ya do.

TBH, I can't think of anything awesomely great that will fit in the cast. Call it musician's block, if you will.

I was thinking that they after the "intro" they would just kind of lead it in with some simple music. A lot of radio stations do that and it seems to work great with podcasts.
Hope that helps a little? haha

Oh I am well aware of the "editing" process! (lol...Niner) I just wanted to stoke the coals a bit, and I am also anxious to hear some other entries. We got a boat load of Talent here on LF! I'm the kind of guy that likes to tell everyone to show up at 9, for the Ten o'clock meeting. Know what I'm saying?

Probably.
Is there a simple program you can use to make one? Or does it take more than that?
