Retired SWG vet looking for feedback

Retired SWG vet looking for feedback
Greetings All-

I was in Beta for SWG, and was very active in a large guild up through the first three years of the game. Yes, back before there were speeders- and you actually had to walk everywhere. As much of a pain as that was, it also held good memories. People teaming up, more senior players running escorts for lowbies wanting to get in on the Tuskens. Even attending one of those meetings they were doing all over the country. I was a hybrid, which I loved. Combined Fencing Mastery with Pistol Mastery, smuggler for some feign death, and one line of Teras Kasi for the self healing. A rather self sufficient, able to solo allot, kind of dude.

I check in every 6-12 months, reading the official forums- nothing nothing had changed. I left after the many many changes that just watered down everything that made the game great for me. Anyway, in the last nine months or so, it seems like fighting is back to being more strategic again, crafting is back to being more interesting, so on and so forth. I just have noticed a much improved tone. Have things finally settled down? Better game now? My old account has been bouncing all over the place with relatives. I can reclaim it, along with an Elder Jedi and BH- anytime. Just was wandering if those vets that also remembers the days walking around everywhere, are again feeling good about the game.

With Kind Regards-
Jin

Well, I didn't start back that far ago, I mean, I had speeders when I started, but I did start prior to JTL. I popped in on a new 14-day trial account (been itching for space fragging) to see if I wanted to activate one of my two old accounts. It's still buggy, but not so much that I can't play it. Still down to 9 professions but there is a good amount of quests to get you started earning some credits, the combat isn't so bad anymore, and they've added a way to allow for pets again. That pleases me greatly, the death of creature handler was a sad time. All in all I'm enjoying it, although I found it horrifying to see Elisium a barren wasteland and Ahazi seems to be rather void of anyone useful, I.E. the bazaar is practically empty so you either make it yourself or live without it. I intend to reactivate Gronk and run about for a while, see where it takes me.

Hello, everyone, and welcome or welcome back! Ahazi is one of the destination servers for free transfers, there should be some new faces, now. Chilastra is flourishing, Bria never had a bad moment. I even transfered from Kauri to Chilastra because Kauri is dying quickly. So, I hope, you enjoy the current version of the game. And, download my lightsaber mod, here. http://mandalorians.de/system/forum/...thread_id=6333

Ok, I have been searching for over an hour. I played the game way back when it first came out and played for 6 months. I believe the speeders came out right when I quit. I know space wasnt out yet. That much I know for sure. I quit playing due to it being nothing but a profession grind to unlock jedi.

I am assuming and hopeful that things have changed. I am reading there is space now and the game is a level system. Can someone please give me a brief rundown on whats changed since the first 6 mo's of the game. I am contemplating coming back. I had a Master Smuggler and alt CH and Doctor.

-Space.
-32 professions have been replaced with 8 iconic professions.
-Jedi is Starting Class.
-Speeders, and quicker Shuttle pickups.
-Instant Travel Vehicles (Take you to shuttles or Starports from anywhere).
-Higest level is 90.
-So many buffs and high end armor and weapons that you will continually die until you aquire said equipment.
-Multiple instanced group content and storylines.
-Mustafar (Planet) and multiple high level content.

-Sorry to say the pre-CU bitching still remains too

If you decide to renew you're subscription, I would recommend a book for the update, and to go through as much of the tutorial level as possible before returning to your old main character. It'll give you a crash course on how to play the game.

And, don't forget to get the Trading Card Game, they keep adding cool random loot items that only come with the booster packs.

Yeah, I am sure I will need to get a book. It's been a LONG time. I think I am gonna try the 14 day trial first and run through some tutorial things to get a feel for things. I just read a few brief things about CU and NGE cuz I no idea what those abbr stood for. Wiki is so awesome. Anyway, they claim that subscribers have fallen pretty damn low in 2006. Is that still the case? Or has there been a resurgence?

Any idea how the character conversion works? If I had a maxed out smuggler, what level would she start out as when I re-activate?

Oh, it'll be as if you never played before. You're practically getting a new game compared to Pre-CU. Yeah, almost six years, updates almost once a week, including three this week. We're, currently, on Game Update 10.2. By the way, I'm a council member in my guild on Chilastra. In game name -RustyGym- Locker (yes, go ahead laugh it's a joke) level 90 Jedi, and -Jewel- Beauty, currently level 57, but with only 15,575 xp to go until 58.

Um, 80 for pre-nge, but Pre-CU didn't have levels, but I'm guessing 80. Smuggler's not a bad profession, these days, either. They have some bite to them.

How about the character conversion. Will my orig character start out level 1?

Are there so many jedi its stupid to play one? I mean everyone loves the thought but, not if its 80% of the characters out there. I want to look into it just cuz thats why I quit after six months was I was tired of grinding for that FS slot to open. Only 3 ppl in my guild of 60 had reached it by the time I quit. And they were powerlevelin fools.

No one does, 5 if you don't take the tutorial, 10 if you do, but I doubt it. I'm still thinking 80.

Well, It's not that high, most people have both a Jedi and something else. That way they can switch when needed. Legacy takes care of leveling, I combined that with mission terminal and, I'm almost 58 already. I'd be amazed if they still play. And, don't forget to try your hand at combat piloting! Also, download this mod. It'll enhance everything, including space. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZKKQ5KOS It includes turning Imperial Space Stations into Star destroyers.
