Custom Commando Project - Redux
After seeing how popular the CCP was, and in an attempt to bring a bit more activity to these boards, I’m bringing this back on a temporary basis, so that people can display, discuss and request ‘Custom Commandos’.
If things go well, and it doesn’t go the way of the other CCPs, then it will be allowed to stay.
If it does turn into another spamfest, this thread will be closed.
Firstly, some ground rules:
- Keep posts within the scope of the topic - this is not a chat room. If you want to chat, use your vistor or private messages.
- Please only make one request at a time - this gives those working on them a chance to get it done.
- Don't pester people if you're waiting for a CC to be completed - they're being generous enough to use their own time to do this, so don't expect it to be done instantly.
Ultimately, the idea here is to have a good time - I'd hate to have to close yet another CCP thread due to spam, but that's ultimately down to you guys.
Keep it clean and keep it on topic, and we won’t have any problems. Get posting!
AK.

I'll start off with this:

Shyrack, the leader of Omicron Squad.
I, for one, approve of the Ewoks. They're a fine representation of the primitive natives doing better in their own environment than the invading white man.
Take that, Avatar.

What we do is photoshop a commando rendered to people's requests.
For example:
Please post your request in the following format:
1)Name
2)Colors & Placement
3)Weapon (we'll do the best we can)
4)Add-ons/other details
All of the work in the previous thread can be found at General LiWar's site:
http://sites.google.com/site/genliwarccp/Home
Finally Please Follow These Rules in this thread
1)DO NOT DOUBLE POST in this thread. If you do we will not produce your custom commando until the posts are edited to one. The "edit this" option is conveniently placed at the bottom right of your posts.
2)Only request 1 commando at a time. We like to give equal opportunities for everyone to receive theirs in a timely manner. Also you may find you want slight modifications to your original request. You can request more than one, just wait until after we post the product of your original request.
Looks like a fruit cake to me. - Brutus

HRC-7714. The "Ghost Commando", he is a member of Omicron Squad.
I, for one, approve of the Ewoks. They're a fine representation of the primitive natives doing better in their own environment than the invading white man.

Not to rip apart your work, but that looks like you slightly modified it (made the majority of the armor a light red and a little yellow on the arms) than an invert, which gives it a watery and blue feel instead of a ghost feel. I know when I think of a ghost, I think of white and... ghostly.
I just did a similar commando using the same template you used, and similar steps:
It doesn't look the best, but it definitely looks more... ghosty.
and here is one without a white outer glow, but still has a minor glow:

Meh, he was originally meant to be a holographic guardian on my site, but I thought I'd retcon him to be something more... Cool?

I have a new Commando, Bloodthurst:

"...Turns to me, and he says,
'why so serious, son?'
Comes at me with the knife...
'Why so serious?'
He sticks the blade in my mouth...
'Let's put a smile on that face!' "

I made my third Commando, Death of Death Squad:
I'm thinking on making an entire squad but if I don't, this is my version of a stealth Commando.
EDIT
Looks like there will be a Death Squad after all.
This is Death's second in command:
Shadow
"...Turns to me, and he says,
'why so serious, son?'
Comes at me with the knife...
'Why so serious?'
He sticks the blade in my mouth...
'Let's put a smile on that face!' "

Hey guys, just to Q you in. This spammy off-topic chat is exactly got the thread lock last time, and the time before. Please keep that to private messages if you don't mind. There is an entire section for Modding RC.
If you get this thread locked, you will officially be on all the CCP members "hate list," I promise you.
Moderator note [08-06-2009 11:07 AM]
I've moved the aforementioned posts to their own thread, which can be found here -
http://lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=199685
Let's try to keep this thread clear, folks - if you see any posts that look like they don't belong in here, use the report button, or send me a PM and i'll look into it. I understand that you want to keep this CCP open, but backseat moderation posts are only going to add to the spam problem.
I'll let it slide this time, but you all know what to do in future.

Well, traffic is pretty low, and many of the original contributors aren't around much these days, but i'm sure once people find out that the CCP is back there'll be more requests.

I hope. I'm running out of ideas pretty fast
Anyway, I made a new Night Ops trooper. Nothing special at all, far worse than my Death Squad, but a classic good, could be used as a template too.
P.S.
Sorry about the spam, I didn't do it on purpose.

RM, I noticed that on the fourth commando (Mist right?) in the "Death Squad" the visor is darker in the area of the splatter mark on the helmet. You might want to go in and erase the splatter mark that is overlapping the visor. Otherwise good job!!! (I think mist is pretty cool )

Yes I figured that one out later. You have to put the visor over everything else so you don't color it by mistake, but since it does look that way I guess we can call the visor 'broken'.
I am working on a new bloody Commando (thanks for Mist), and he'll look something like him but with blood on his armor. You'll see
P.S.
Here he is, a Commando after a hard day's work:

"...Turns to me, and he says,
'why so serious, son?'
Comes at me with the knife...
'Why so serious?'
He sticks the blade in my mouth...
'Let's put a smile on that face!' "

I still don't know how to replace weapons, so I'm good for only one of those requests for now. I really hope you like my Black Katarn armor, Captain Bravo, but I'm not sure if I can make anyone except Tracyn, although Wraith is growing on me, I don't know where to find the gun.
Anyway:
I couldn't put the Republic Emblem anywhere without conflicting with the skull. If you want anything changed tell me or send me a PM.

It's mainly copy and paste (erase any extra). There are starter packs on my site: https://sites.google.com/site/genliwarccp/package
There are commandos with no guns, and already cut out weapons...

Now that I've caught us up to the most recent one, I am officially done for the night.

Ky'ram looks best, but they all look spectacular. And would you mind redoing Tracyn? Captain Bravo would want them looking mostly the same.

Selecting an area of the armor, then pressing Hue/Saturation or pressing Color balance. Or doing other edits.

I know this will sound like a really stupid question, but i'm really new with photoshop, and what tool do you use to select a piece of the armor, and where are the Hue/Saturation, Color Balance buttons?
And i will post requests here now.

Jackal Squad
Hi everyone, this is my first post here so any comments would be helpful
As the title suggests this is Jackal Squad, and from left to right it is:
RC-2294 Jag, RC-2015 Rust, RC-1009 Sem and RC-2012 Wasp.
Hope you like them

You can use your lasso tools (it looks like a lasso. If you hold down the lasso button, you can choose the polygonal lasso or the magnetic lasso, each has its own pros and cons) to select an area. After you've selected an area, press the Image button at the top, go to Adjustments, then press Hue/Saturation or Color Balance. If you use Hue/Saturation, a good idea is to check the colorize button. If you use color balance, a good idea would be to desaturate your selection/layer (Ctrl+Shift+U is the hotkey) so that it turns into the color you want it to.

When you installed photoshop, it might've automatically set a certain image type to open with imageready. I know when I installed photoshop on W7, it made my .png files open with IR. What you do is either right click a .png file, and tell it to open with Photoshop, or you can open Photoshop, press open (or Ctrl+O), and select your image manually.

Two things: 1) when i posted my clone pics they don't show up on the actual thread, how do you get them to show? 2) also there's another way of selecting pieces of armour on the clones in GIMP. it takes more time but is more accurate. if you use the paths tool (under tools-paths) you can select the piece you want by placing points around the edge then selecting Select-from path, then colour it to your liking, then press Select-all and you have the whole picture back

Alright, i have everything sorted out. But once you Lasso what you want, and then click Hue/Saturation, a wnidow called Hue/Saturation opens, what do you do there?

I think you may have posted the link to the page not the picture.
Photobucket does have a "Share this Image" Box. Just copy the IMG Code one. I'll do it for you this time
@K1lingdr3ad just play around with the sliders until you get the look you want
