thanks General i see now i'm also writing a story based on the squad, is there anywhere in particular i should post it?

The Hue/Saturation thing just makes the coloring what I want. What I need to know is how you guys make it look 3d, and realistic, not animated.

k1lingdr3ad, i think it would be easier for you to use GIMP, it's a lot simpler and it makes it look realistic

That is what we do.

I personally don't like to use Hue/Saturation, I use Color Balance. It gives me a little more control than H/S.

Well, if he already has Photoshop, then it might be a good idea to stick with it. And GIMP isn't simple for everybody. Like with everything else computer related out there, you just have to get used to the controls and such.

You also have to play around with the layer blending options (overlay, linear burn, multiply etc.)

EDIT: I am extremely excited becuz i think i figured out how to do it properly!!!!!! A bit of practice and i'll be makin em as good as other guys!

You can either host it via an image hosting website (imageshack , photobucket); or you can make an album here on LF and upload the picture, and then you copy the BB code into your post.

Pretty good

My only criticism is that the symbol on the helmet looks like it was just placed over the helmet. It does not look like it was "painted" on (ie it looks flat, no shadows & highlights like on the armor). Try playing around with the layer blending styles so that it wont look so flat.

I don't know if you've already done it, but create a new thread in the Absent Without Leave Forum for the Fan Fic. Make the title "[FanFic] Title" or something like that

^After you have uploaded the pictures to the album you can click on each picture and copy the BB code and then paste it into your post

Some really great commandos from everyone! I'd make some myself, but I don't have much time for the moment.

I'm really pleased that this version of the CCP has been successful thus far, and it will no longer be considered an 'experiment'.

Given the good standard of behaviour so far, i'm happy to let this continue!
