According to the movie, the Jedi Council didn't think so. They apprenticed Ahsoka to Anakin because they knew having those two together would benefit both of them. Ahsoka would not only benefit from his teaching, but also learn obedience (and learn how to curb her tongue). Simultaneously, Anakin would learn patience teaching her (and putting up with her ), and he would become more responsible.

PS: You said that you think Ahsoka should just be good friends with Anakin, not his padawan. Like I said in my previous post, that simply wouldn't be possible. Either Ahsoka's his apprentice and his friend, or she's not his apprentice and just another padawan.

Chapter 12 of A Soul Adrift is out.

Short stories:
T'katlu: On the planet Felucia, a young apprentice of the Dark Side thinks back to the beginning of her training as she lies in wait for her prey...

All the Time: After four years in the Unknown Regions, the Exile returns to the known galaxy to visit an old enemy.

Broken: A master of the Dark Side finds himself about to lose the one thing he cares about--and he will do anything to stop her from endangering herself.

How, exactly? Because if she dies, it does not really affect Skywalker. And that would just be another stupid reason to not watch the show

true, but she will die sometime within two more seasons or so. I almost was excited about one of November's episodes where she and some weird girl got caved in at some droid factory. When Anakin pulled them out, I screemed "NOOOOOOOO"

Some weird girl? You do realize how important to Star Wars Barriss Offee is, right?

Wrong. They did it this way because for some reason, Anakin was known during the war as Hero of the Republic. And we didn't got to see that during the movies. As well as his great friendship with Obi-Wan as stated on ANH, which by seeing the way he behaves during the prequels, makes no sense.

If she was older, and didn't have a master by then, she would have been on AgriCorps or something like that...

Why do you like Star Wars movies? Because they are "dark and for teenagers and up"?

Why so much Ahsoka hate? She was annoying in the movie and in the first half of the first season, but she's improved greatly since then. "Lightsaber Lost" comes to mind. She actually showed a darker side in that episode.

And, of course, she's stopped calling Anakin "Skyguy". That helps.

^^^This.

I don't find Ahsoka annoying at all and I'm really glad she's part of the SW lore. I'm also very intrigued to see how they remove her from the story when the time comes, although I don't think that will happen until season 4 or 5.

I think she'll probably end up dying, further enhancing Anakin's attachment issues and developing his story of turning to the dark side, but there's always a chance she'll walk away from the order or something like that. Dave Filoni says he knows in his head how her story ends, and I'm looking forward to finding out.

@Endorenna and Gurges-Ahter:

I completely agree. The nicknames and attitude were a bit much in the movie, but they improved drastically over the course of the show. Now I'm excited whenever she's on.

I also don't think that the show is aimed towards children alone, considering all of the violent and dark things that happen.
Just watch Rookies and Brain Invaders.

Also, do you think the implied lesbian romance involving Ahsoka and Barriss was deliberate, or are people just getting the wrong idea?

I think people are just getting the wrong idea. But yeah, your right, it kinda seemed a little weird. My favorite episodes are Senate Spy, Voyage of Temptation, Rookies, and Destroy Melevolance.

Is this a joke? I never saw any implied lesbian romance at all.

I think you're possibly reading far too much into that. I haven't seen the episodes in question, but I can't see what is known to be a kid's show having an 'implied lesbian romance'.

I don't think they are lesbian. That isn't good for a kid show.

What about torture or suicide? There's no denying that those are in the show. I'll stop there, because I don't want to turn this into a big debate over what's appropriate for a kid's show.

There is a difference between killing and sex. In real life, sex is better than killing, but on TV, killing is better than sex. Lets just leave it at that and get back to discussing the show. But who is this Barriss person anyway?

Probably not as cool as the picture, but might be a little more informative.

Some episodes rock (Destroy Meleavolance, Duel of the droids, Rookies, Voyage of temptation) and some get VERY boring after a while (Jedi Crash, Keepers of the Peace, Lightsaber Lost, The Rise of the Bounty Hunters). They have their moments, can be funny, and are sometimes very entertaining. I hoever believe that the live action show coming out next year will be better.

What I meant by Rise of the Bounty hunters was the three episodes with Cad Bane in season 2; Holocron heist, Future of the Jedi, and Children of the Force.

What I meant by Rise of the Bounty hunters was the three episodes with Cad Bane in season 2; Holocron heist, Future of the Jedi, and Children of the Force.
You have to admit, the episode "Children of the Force" was a heck of a lot better than the book Children of the Force.

I personally liked all three of those episodes. Great way to start out the second season.

That's right she was one of the extras from the Arena Battle.
