For Mods that Restore Content to both KoTOR I and II, i recommend the ones that restore original content. There are a ton of others that make clothes, and add playable characters and such...but my own preference is for the original games and or restorations to them...as Team Gizka is doing....these are some of the best so far...

This was a pretty decent thread in its time, but I think as of now we know that while "Force Unleashed" was highly anticipated, it's not really part of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series (apparently the only real multiplayer it had was one on one saber duels, with a side view, more like Bushido Blade or Soul Calibur + terrain), and was never ported to the PC.
So unless anybody has any new info on rumors... I'm going to unstick this and let it fade naturally into the archives...

Not so amazing as it is sad. LA has been pretty neglectful of the SW PC gaming community for awhile now.
We've gotten pretty much jack other than the LEGO games lately... though I hear we're going to be getting this Clone Wars Republic Heroes game in September.

Well quit whining and get over to the Meatgrinder server then and let's play some JA!
The trouble is LA's neglect of the PC format (which translates to stiffled multiplayer functionality, as none of the new console only Jedi games have had much in that area, unfortunately).

When Star Wars movies moved toward a child audience, so did the games.
Lucasarts would be too afraid to release anything like DF or DF2 nowadays.
1: OMG SOMEWHAT REALISTIC SHOOTING, RATED T, OH NOES!
2: Nobody would understand the plot.

Academy had such a cliffhanger ending if you beat the game as a darkside jedi... Really sad. I'd love to see another game pick up where that left off. It could have 2 beginnings one for if you beat academy as darkside and one for if you beat academy as lightside.
Darkside I guess maybe you'd take on your own apprentice or something and go kill kyle. Dunno but it was fun fighting him at the end of academy. Although actually getting to kill the coolest jedi would of been interesting.
edit: oh hey my first post here heh.

I hate to have to promote a thread from another forum, but a guy named Eltran initiated a thread over at Filefront about making an entire new Jedi Knight sequel and is asking for ideas. Here's the link to the thread over there, take a read and offer you thoughts there or here.

Been a long time guys... Just thought I'd come here to see what's up. Yeah so no more JK games huh? That sucks as I've been wanting the definitive saber game but it looks to be happening on the wii moreso than the PC which is sad. I think the JK series was probably the best I've played, even though I had a huge fit with the lack of first person saber duels in JA. Legendary flame wars inadvertently came from that, remember Kurgan?
Anyway, it's cool to see where the modders have ended up. Some guys work in the game business now too and this is where they all started, with mods and maps and stuff.
Well gotta go to bed. Hopefully somewhere down the line we'll hear an announcement of a new game. I think KOTOR mmo is a good start but I want an offline experience that mirrors what they're doing. Don't know if we'll see that happen. Only in my dreams I suppose.
Aight, later dudes

The Jedi Knight community will never truely die out, theres so much still going for the series, we are a very dedicated group of fans and i doubt that theres ever gonna be a definative end to the series community wise. Lets just hope for another title. Lucasarts would be foolish not to, so many people would purchase another title in the franchise.

Pity about that mod! As many of us know who have attempted stuff like that, ambitious total conversions and other mods (beyond anything basic like an MP map, skin, or saber mod) is that it's really hard to finish something like that, working in your spare time for free. Organizing a team of people like that (especially if you only know each other online) is even more of a nightmare. Kudos to anyone who can pull something like that off and actually release something playable. It's hard! Anyway...
Okay, so there's been nothing thus far. E3 2010 is just around the corner though, right?
Naah, all there is thus far is Ultimate Sith Edition for the PC, which is sort of the "Dark Jedi game" we never ever got, but with no multiplayer and piss poor editing support (not to mention the saber action is button mashing hack and slash as far as I can tell). Force Unleashed 2 MAY end up being a great game, but all we've seen thus far is some concept art and a cutscene, no actual gameplay, and it's a console exclusive.
The Old Republic is a MMORPG, and gameplay looks like a cross between KOTOR and Galaxies... (if that's your cup of tea, but it isn't mine)
So it looks like we're still waiting on that "new Jedi Knight Game."

You know what I really want the most is not only to see this game someday but for it to continue where academy left off with multiple storylines.
If you chose darkside in academy you are left with a very nice cliffhanger as to what happens later on.
Id love to see 2 storylines based off this alone. One: You play as that character on your way to darker powers while kyle tries to stop you. You might get the opportunity to change back to light and be redeemed or I dunno something else. Or you play as kyle with your mission to get the scepter of ragnos back from your student and either convince them to turn away from the darkside or kill them trying.
I'm at a complete loss on ideas for continuing from the lightside... Perhaps you take on a padawan that might betray you later and you are again tempted to join the darkside out of the rage of being betrayed.
Lots of room for multiple storylines but I would like to see atleast the 2 darkside stories happen.

Good news fellas
Just last week my very good friend, whose name will go unmentioned, started his new job for LA. He has told me that he is playing a small role in a game that has been in development for about 6-7 months and is still in its infancy. The game is an FPS Star Wars based and surrounds the Jedi. Also, it does not run on Frostbite. I think that the force unleashed game does Frostbite so it is most likely not a sequel to that. He says that it will be running something newer that allows huge destructible environments. He has not had much hands on with the game but says the guys who do are about to wet themselves to talk about it. However, they are under some law they can’t say anything or they can be prosecuted and sued! If this is not a new Jedi Knight game it sounds like it is going to be a spin off. I was never a real fan of Jedi Knight but I know a lot of you were so here is some refreshing news after, what, like 8 years?

While I wish I could say "yay, a new JK game!" the info you've received could be ANY Star Wars game.
