They didn't make it like that. It was by no means a great ending, but it didn't leave you hanging either. The Kashyyyk mission was completed, end of story.
Now that I think about it, I guess what I like most out of RC was that it was a Star Wars FPS. I could care less about the clones. To be honest I'm rather sick of them at the moment, actually. So for me I would just like to see another FPS. Simple as that.
I agree with that entirely. There are a few moments where Delta (and the player him/herself) are grieving for 07, but it quickly moves onto the start of the Republic invasion. LA seems to have purposely done that so that the player will stop thinking (mostly) about Sev, so there wouldn't be a noticeable cliffhanger. I mean, it didn't work, that's why many of us want a sequel.
But yeah, mission completed, cool ending, then credits. I admit there's a huge amount that could be done with that, but I don't think it's a cliffhanger. Or at least, I don't think they intended for it to be enough of a cliffhanger for so many people to want a sequel leading off.
Personally, I'd love a sequel, there is alot they could do.
Oh, and hey. Just joined the forums because of this topic (really, it was a good read) and hope to be here for a long time
P.s- There's a chance that I went against my own opinion in all that. I'd like to use the excuse of it being nearly three in the morning, but, meh, I accidently do that all the time.
Epic Edit: Oh, and I kind of agree about a great thing about it being it's a Star Wars FPS, but to be honest, I love clones too.

But yeah, a Republic Commando II with a new engine would be awesome. I'm kind of against the idea of an "Imperial Commando". I don't know if I can fully back up my reasons, but I'll do my best.
A key element of the game (In my opinion, anyway. It affected me alot at the end) is brotherhood, with the commando's of Delta being close brethren. It might just be how I look at the game and the warm and fuzzy friendship details, but I found it to be key. So, the reason I don't like the idea of an "Imperial Commando" is;
1) Assuming it follows Delta Squad as part of the Empire, I'll feel alot of that Brotherhood damaged with the loss of Sev. But who knows? That might make me want to play the game and get all emotional.
2) Much of the Empire (not all of it) is brutal and cruel in the way it acts, and I don't think that would quite fit in with Delta Squad, or with any other squad, if brotherhood was a key point. Which it is. To me! Although, they could work around that. Or remove that brotherhood element entirely.

but, i would MUCH rather have an RC2 than an IC
but, alas, this game was made to bridge ep2 to the Clone wars/Ep3

I wouldn't care what era it is as long as you get to shot something and it has nothing to do with all that lightsaber crap. You don't need to be a Jedi or have a lightsaber to be a hero, that's what RC has thought me. But I doubt LA will make a new Star Wars FPS. It's just like mikexmills said, all LA cares about is milking the Jedi/Sith story.

I guess RC was just meant to be some spin off. It was just never intended to be part of the larger story. The Mandalorian ways were just stepped on by Lucas. I guess the Mandalorians aren't welcome in that place called canon.

well, they are VERY rarly used.....i can only think of a few games with mandos in them (not including mods or boba/jango fett)

i don't give a **** about jedis or siths or any of that lightsaber crap I only want clonetrooper game like a FPS game, or a new FB game with better graphics... it is a shame that was the second one in a series where the first was the best selling star wars game of all time got one of the worst graphics i have seen in years, i mean GTA: SA form the 90's got better graphics!

LA used to make FPS's. The JK series was an FPS but once you get your lightsaber it basically isn't anymore. LA just isn't going to make anymore FPS's. Even if they did they'd put in a lightsaber as a weapon. If they did that then it wouldn't be an FPS anymore.
Perhaps this would be a good time to point out that while i'm willing to tolerate a little off-topicness (and only a little), this is not an 'I hate LucasArts' thread.
I think the star wars games are getting too fruity. Republic Commando was a good break from all that fruity tooty stuff with jedis and jank. I'd rather get down and dirty and throw a blaster bolt through somethings head. they need an RC 2 and they need to make a new squad.

I agree with that. As 38 says on their now derelict, originally assigned ship, " 'An elegant weapon for a more civilized time,' eh? Well, guess what... Times have changed." Which was comic, and the fact that you couldn't even pick it up, reinforces everyone's love for LA FPS's.
I also like Battlefront, and would like to see another one of those. The second one was sort of like RC, except that in that the 501st Squad were clones, and lived to see the day that Order 66 was given, and followed it, and became the most experience team in the Empire. Much like Delta Squad is in the Pre-Empire Republic.
