Hey fanboys! George Lucas says STFU.
Maybe now you nerds can unbunch your collective panties and salvage your not-really-raped childhoods, because your god George Lucas is finally giving you what you have long claimed he is withholding because he has no soul.
BAM
Now run along and join your ewok friends as they dance around the fire in celebration.

How many times is George going to pull this rabbit out of his hat?
I thought this "most impressive" Star Wars news was first announced at Celebration V.
Still can't hear it enough, plus now I have a price.

Man, I remember the enthusiasm over at Yoda's Swamp when they announced the OT on DVD. Everyone was flipping out then.

It could be worse. They could have announced that John Smedley was now in charge of Lucasfilm. All the blasters would be replaced with lightsabers in the New Viewing Enhancements and there's tons of Jedi instead of a handful.

Meh, I played it before and after NGE. I preferred it before. But either way it's still better than most MMO's out there. I've always said, that if they had done it right, it would have been a success story. Instead they made the game virtually unplayable for months(years?). As it is now, it's not bad. BUT Smedley in charge of the movies would be a bit scary. He might use that same focus group to determine that there aren't enough lightsabers in the movie.
I was thinking of saying they are Re-re-editing the Cantina scene with Han and Greedo to make Jar Jar shoot Greedo instead of Han. Another version of pulling in nerd-rage.

Ah, beating a dead horse are we, Uncle George?
Good thing I have the unaltered originals in remastered THX on VHS which I plan to burn to DVD and eventually Blu-Ray when that becomes possible.

B-b-but the original negatives were destroyed while making the Special Editions!
Most likely, the originals will only become available after dear George kicks the bucket; if at all.
I can wait 'til then. Time is on my side.

I foresee an ironic twist wherein George's successor will use technology to create a psedu-Original edition and release it separately on whatever 1-TB-sized media we have by then.

I don't they were really destroyed, I believe it's never been more than a rumor. The real problem is George is a douche who has a really hard time coming to terms with the general consensus that the less he had to do with a movie, the better everyone liked it. Seriously, the man has gone back and swapped adlibbed dialogue with what he originally had written in the script.

I'm happy with the Current version of the Movies, a little less Jar Jar would be nice, and better saber effects for ROTJ, so hopefully these Blu Ray versions will finish the editions he Started.

Jorge doesn't know how to do better. Most of what was ever good about the OT came out of him not having total control like he does now. His wife and others kept him in line, and the actors themselves were fighting him on his ****ty dialogue writing skills the whole way. He's completely out of touch these days, and nothing good can come from him dicking around with the movies any farther.

I've criticised this Blu-Ray release before, but if they can either remove or at least make that awful CG sequence of the speeder entering Mos Eisley blend in properly with the rest of the film, It might be enough to swing it.
I hate that scene with a vengeance it's so jarringly crap and fake. It makes watching ANH really difficult for me.

Don't get me wrong, I tried getting into it now and then, but I can't get over the bizarre fact that Anakin got a padawan before even a year after graduating from the Academy. And that little twerp Ahsoka is annoying as hell any way.
I tuned in once and everyone's doing stuff, and Ahsoka says (ham-fistedly) "I have a bad feeling about this..." and Anakin warns her not to do something and Obi-Wan is standingly Obi-Wanly and clone troopers are fighting and taking orders and FFS NOTHING DIFFERENT FROM THE PREQUELS IS HAPPENING.
Not to mention that it would seem that Anakin and Obi-Wan (with that red little.. thing) fought the entire Clone Wars by themselves, or were at least required to show up everywhere in the galaxy. You'd think the two would be nominated to rule the Jedi Academy as pro-consuls and override the Council by then.

Out of 56 episodes so far, Ahsoka appears in 24. Some of them with a very short, background role.
