Looks awesome, I'm just glad Brett Douchebag has nothing to do with it...Matthew Vaughn showed off some great comic book know-how with Kick-Ass so I'm quite positive about this instalment.

How? How on earth did they manage to convince me to have any interest in an X-men movie after the last few?

That actually looked... good.

I never really was a fan of X-Men and I didn't care too much for the previous movies but this one actually has me interested.

Heck who wouldn't want to see Charles Xavier before the chair?

I often like the before they were this films because in a way you get to see what influences the nature of a character though I think sometimes a bit of mysteriousness is good for a change.

Many of my friends worked on this movie.

From a production standpoint, I can tell you the making of this movie was a disastrous joke.

^ Somehow I'm not surprised... I thought the previous X-men movies + the Wolverine spin-off were fairly decent, but for some reason I can't seem to get excited over this one.

Looks interesting. Then again, after the disappointment that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I'll think carefully whether or not I'll watch this one.

All I know is they rather annoyingly held traffic up on St. Aldates street back in July, and forced me to take a different bike route. Though it was kind of cool seeing the film crews at work.

Meh. Figures since they screwed up the forward going timeline so bad, the only way they could go was back

Looks interesting, but all these different iterations of some characters (Was that Emma Frost in there?) is getting a little confusing.

I knew that the making of Hall Pass was not a joke. It was fun to work on, but we worked our butts off and the work made sense. Same goes for The Walking Dead. Same goes for The Lottery Ticket. There was not needless wastefulness everywhere you looked. There was not entire million dollar sets (yes, a real figure) built, cabled, lights hung, dressed, and then cut. The only show I have worked on that was obviously wack-o from jump was "Past Life". If any of you actually remember it, it is either due to my posting about it in my Ahto thread, or because you tried to watch it and had to turn the channel out of, uh, nausea.

Lynk, do you know this from experience.... I do.

see this link if my opinion doesn't seem valid.

I hope it is good. The last X-Men movie was incredibly frustrating, taking far too much liberty in the storytelling. I just have significant doubts that it could be.

What I take from this is that the delay the film crews caused, preventing me from getting my bread for that week from the Tesco on the bottom of St. Aldates might have been for a scene that won't even happen.

How dare they cost me a day of delicious whole wheat goodness?

In all seriousness, that does not bode well. Hey, at least they're less wasteful than the government of [insert any country here].

That's great, but you don't have to get penisy about it. I haven't worked in Hollywood, but yes, I have worked on a movie funded by the Victorian government... though a lot of people doing Media in University have so whatever.

Getting that out of the way, movies in general aren't an easy thing to make and have a lot of issues when in production. If you can name one movie where the production went smoothly with absolutely no problems then we'll all win free Ferrari's.

Come on, everyone is counting on you now.

Oh, I didn't realize that the burden of proof was on me now, as I hadn't made a claim I couldn't back up; or that I was penisy. I figured that you were spouting off as an expert when your experience was in fact quite limited. That might be penisy, but I didn't put a label on it.

No, no production goes smoothly from start to finish. That is accurate. But there is an obviousness to when a production has gone "off the deep end", into the wacky zone, and when that happens those of us on the crew look at each other knowingly - and say Holy Bleep, this is bleeped up.

Walking away from this thread - as I will see the movie only on cable, and I am moving the thread off topic.

I didn't like a single X-Men movie, even Wolverine. What should I expect? More of the same? No, thank you.

I never said you had to prove anything, I was saying that movie production is a big complicated thing and that it's not as easy as people like to think it is, even for those who have been a part of the production since they never see what makes up the whole, they just do that specific thing they were hired for. And yeah, some productions are worse than others, but all productions go through their own pockets of hell.

This isn't a matter of who has more experience or not, calm down. I'm not trying to 1up you or anything, I'm on my way to becoming a teacher, not a movie maker, you can have all of that glory for yourself.

@ Ctrl Alt Del: I don't see how this movie would be any different either.
