My roommate recently picked up two copies of the new Pokemon game - one for him, one for me. I've only just gotten into it in the last two days, but so far I'm really enjoying it despite how different it is from the main series. Has anyone else here given it a shot yet?
It looks interesting, but I really don't care about it. I'm much more interested in Black 2 and White 2, which come out in Japan on Saturday (which I'd guess would be now for them).
At first I wasn't convinced but I'm hearing that it's actually quite an interesting crossover game so I'll definitely look more into it. I'm glad it's a Nintendo DS game and not a 3DS game too cause I'd really rather play this on my much larger screen DSi XL. I'm also a fan of Fire Emblem, so a Pokémon tactical rpg is pretty damn tempting.
No, you're right, the overall series is pretty much the same thing recycled over and over against until we've gotten to the point where the latest generation of Pokemon resemble Digimon more than anything else.
This is why when the remake of Gold and Silver came out, it got me excited because it took me back to a more simple time... and why this game in particular has me more interested than Black and White 2.
