So, after many years of production, the highly anticipated Half-Life 1 remake is released. I've played a few hours in and so far the quality and presentation are unprecedented, and I would encourage all to try the game out.

Several years ago I played through Half-Life 1 and it was incredible, and I am a fan of Half-Life 2 and the episodes, and have even done some modding for the game series which was challenging but worthwhile. I'd be interested in hearing impressions of Black Mesa from this forum, I'm sure most of you have heard of this project as its been around for a while.

Pros: free high quality remake of HL1
Cons: 3.5 gigabytes of downloading

I heartily endorse this project and encourage all to try it out and post thoughts.

I got it yesterday and am very impressed. Not much else to say, though; I'm still playing and haven't the slightest clue how far I'm in.

It is essentially a graphic updating of the original HL. Downloaded it this past weekend, but have'nt installed it yet.

It's an unofficial Half-Life 1 remake. Valve's aware of it; all they asked was that the team drop the "Source" from the title.

Also, shouldn't this be in The Outlander Club?
