seriously though.

As for me during the downtime. I got a new Samsung Galaxy s4. Also went to Madison and found some new stores to visit.

There is a store called Vom Fass. it is a chain based in Germany. They sell and bottle a whole SLEW of good things. Oils, Oil infustions, Vinagars, Grappa, and even Whiskey. They buy barrels of whiskey and then bottle it on site to order. Found this wonderful 16 year old speyside Craigellachie

well i told her right off the bat what i expect of her as a girlfriend if we get back together, that i will not compromise my goals and dreams for her, that she must accept me for who and how i am and the person that i have become. if she cant do that and just wants me to live to please her, i've got like 3 other girls on standby (didn't tell her that).

Projected year-end post count after June: 1,418

Probably no way you can blame two days of downtime for the whole drop-off...activity was "suspiciously" down all month.

Keyan, food trucks are all the rage now, from what I can tell. They even have food truck festivals up here during the summer.

Personally, I've begun shopping for stuff I need to be able to run brackets for the Monday night Coke league on nights that the guy who usually does it can't make it. Expecting a laser printer here Friday...figure I can stuff that in a duffel bag to take on the bus when I need to, and it would be faster than the inkjet I've been using at home. The person running brackets normally extracts an administrative fee from each bracket, so I'm expecting everything to eventually pay for themselves.

Well... I for one have had a truly ****ty month (actually, going on past the 2 month mark at this point...) and didn't want to post all negative downer crap.

I mean, it would boost the post count... but looking back at years past I couldn't believe how depressing much of my daily updates were. Ugh.

Trying not to be "that guy" this year...

Hmmmph.

Laying low today. Busy weekend ahead. And it's just unbearably hot and humid out there today.

Plus: I've no desire to be out among the all-day drinkers, and other assorted party animals... all the intoxicated yahoos armed with explosive projectiles that make this day such a hazard to travel around on.

If I go outside at all and do anything, it will be a little yard work. Got some weeds growing up through the boards of the porch.

Later though... after the crazy heat of the day... when the sun heads West a bit more.

Ended up going out to a barbeque after all. Had a good time. Blew off all the stuff I was going to do around here.

Oh well.

Met a couple of nice folks. Also a few single girls a friend of mine said he'd put a good word in for me with. Doubt it will go anywhere... but worth a shot if nothing else.

"Hot enough for ya?"

Yes. Very much so.

It's difficult to believe that there were mornings this time last month I was taking the chill off and nights at that time that I was sleeping under 2 blankets.

No more... no more.

Ugh. Sweltering.

In November, I'm buying my first new car ever.

Never had a new car before. My current vehicle is old enough to have its own driver's license.

This is Boston. There's a LOT.

Dew point in the high 70's/ low 80's. Right now, the computer is telling me it feels like 103 outside.

Stepping outside is like walking into a bread oven.

Sounds like Florida. 120+ weather isn't that bad so long as the sand isn't coming full force at you. Lol. Grateful there is not much humidity here.

Mini Cooper Hardtop.

I'm actually going to lease it. I debated on the pros and cons a lot and figure that in three years or so, I'll probably want something different anyhow. Plus I worked out that I only drive 8200 miles a year, so they won't get me on the mileage. Take that!

I am starting the shopping for a Compact pickup. More of a utility vehicle for my wife and I. Leaning towards the Toyota Tacoma, and I might be able to get one new.

Saw a preview for Enders Game when I went to see Dispicable Me 2. Can't wait for that film to come out

It was easier back in the days of analog. Voltage over a wire is easy to manipulate. If it was the wrong connector, you got an adapter, or a box which stepped up or down the level.

The big problem these days is that everybody is trying to set "The Digital Standard" since there isn't a single one that's universally accepted. They deliberately go out of their way to make sure not only the connectors are different, but the data transmission protocols are incompatible, and/or use a host of different sample and bit rates. It's like if you took all the format wars of the past in one giant battle: 33 vs. 45 vs. 78 vs. cassette vs. VHS vs. BETA vs. DAT vs. Minidisc vs. ADAT vs. DA-88 vs. HD-DVD vs. Bluray vs. whatever... and had all the companies involved convinced that theirs was the only format worthy of history.

It sucks... but it's less of a concern in the Live Pro-Sound universe.

Well... at least it was... until they started pushing digital transmission lines on us. We are thinking about upgrading our main board, and the next one will have converters at the snake box on stage, which will then transmit the audio wherever we want it over Ethernet. But now we have to consider how that will affect everything else down the line. It will be great if everyone else has gear made by Yamaha.

Far, FAR less so if products made by any other companies are involved...

I feel your pain.

Small reason to be thankful, however: I've been assured it's actually much worse in the world of professional video.

All I wanted to do was get some nice a/d d/a converters. I can't even figure out if I can plug my synths directly into this thing, never mind how I would actually accomplish this if so. Curse you, makers of music gear!

Colonel Graff is played by Harrison Ford. That alone will make the movie worth seeing.

Also with the state of CGI, the battle room scenes can be done quite well.

I'm not sure how to ask about this;

My brother Dan wants to try and make sure that this year isn't one of sadness for his son (one of my other nephews 'Danny', older brother of Cameron)

As far as I know, my brother wanted to take both of the boys to Disney land sometime in the Fall, but with things happening of late, if possible to try and make that trip sooner.

altho the cost of going TO said (Happy) place is expensive, with the side of funeral costs....

is there anyone that here can help out on this one?

I slept 12 hours last night... and that's not including the couple of times I dozed off at work and on the subway.

I guess I was tired yesterday.

Hopefully today I'll be bursting with energy... but so far I'm not feelin' it.
