according to my roommate my dog didn't bark or whine for about 5 hours (went out for my sister's birthday and some christmas shopping) so happy about that.

may be picking up my ex from the airport today.....idk why i do this. im bored i guess? idk part of me doesn't want to, but the funny thing is i'm not the one doing all the calling and talking anymore...idk what she wants from me other than for free **** and to abandon me...thinking of simply blowing her off. not sure what i should do, that part of me that likes to do good and **** is saying to do it 'cause i'll get to see her again' meh. i wish other girls i'm interested in would throw me some signs of similar interest.

I have played all the X-wing games, even dabbled in Rogue squadron. Also i played the wing commander games. Heck, i have even played the old "Aces" series of WWI, and WWII flight combat sims

The one major complaint about the X-wing games is the ships maneuvering never had a true Yaw. It was a yaw combined with a roll. Most anyone who has played a flight combat sim has gotten used to using a roll, followed by positive pitch to turn.

Any SW based flight sim has to have these components:

1. NO FLY BY RAILS! this is not some arcade game
2. Open environment. Every good game has this now. Fallout, Skyrim. Let the players explore. Easily limit exploration by having limited range and BINGO fuel.
3. Multiplayer skirmishes, or consent based PvP.
4. Free Look without killing your Frames per second. This helps in tracking your target and being able to lead them better.

I still think any star wars flight sim should jsut try to emulate a good WWII air combat game, and they will do just fine.

But then again, the stupid console market still wants arcady games cause they are easier to play

K_Kinnison, i think that yaw is atmospheric maneuver, it is inherent for a plane. Well, at least i felt absolutely no discomfort about it in X-wing, Tie-fighter or XWA.

Oh, i can't agree with that. Such of flight sims (like XWA) are not FPS or RTS, so i think that most of basic controls can be easily done with gamepad and console players will have absolutely no disadvantages in combat against PC players, who uses keyboard+joystick.

The Wing Commander games were great, but they had a different focus than the X-Wing games. Much more story and characters, but less complex gameplay. The Freespace games were good too, in a similar way. Probably a little better in gameplay, but almost no characters at all.

SW:ToR has a decent space combat thing now, very freeform dogfighting.

War Thunder is a great flight sim combat too. Not very pay to win, and free to play on Steam.

The issue with console vs. PC on the flight sim world is the PC player will always had a slight advantage in craft control vs. the console players. with the keyboard+flight stick combo, we can push our crafts a bit harder and with more refined control than they can.

War Thunder is mixing the PC and Playstation 4 people..... We're already seeing the PC players having an advantage.

Winter has reared its ugly head here in wisconsin. Had freezing rain on the ride home last night. Comes down as rain, then freezes when it lands on something... like windshields, or roads. Absolute worse form of precipitation. Even my wipers were ineffective. had to stop every few miles and pull over to scrap my windows again

my college just tried to screw me over...not sure if i should be laughing or raging mad right now...got an "invoice" for just over 4 grand. not gonna pay it because i used education assistance program and the post 9/11 gi bill and it said on the portal (the dumb online thing) that i had $0 balance...then i check my mailbox this morning and find this freakin invoice. about to transfer to a 4 year college, but doubt they'd accept me with my less than 3.0 gpa. aughghghg so frustrated...now just waiting on the call from the business office who will undoubtedly transfer me to veteran's affairs, and that lady is ****ing stupid...oh god help me..

Freespace was awesome, and 2 was even better... I didn't care it wasn't SW.

I'm so burnt out. I'm supposed to go to a party tonight... don't know if I'll make it. I'm exhausted, and still achy and bruised. I also haven't done laundry since before my vacation, or food shopping... and I still haven't begun Christmas shopping... Working long hours 7 days a week for almost a month tends to interfere with such things... just a bit...

well the military benefits website is giving my the giant middle finger right now....was going to VERIFY that the post 9/11 is gonna pay my college...it had better, otherwise i'm going to take another overseas job asap...private sector hates me and my gazillion job experiences and no college degree. and i refuse to work for less than 40 hours a week at 10.50 an hour. not sure what to do if i gotta pay $4k out of my own pocket. and my leadership in the guard isn't at all helpful with education paperwork...i guess i could make a tutorial for new people and get kudos...idk. just feeling all lost in the sauce right now.

Yes, i understand. I just talking that i feel no discomfort having no of differential yaw flight maneuver in XWA. More, i should be very glad to see identical flight model in those new Star Wars flight simulator.

P.S. Damn, -27C outside there. Winter comes at last.

Saw the new Hobbit movie last night. I think it was a little better than the first one, but still not great. Though it had a few great things about it. I can't believe how far from the book it is now, though. It's almost more like a re-imagining of the story than a movie adaptation.

that bad idea turned into a near nightmare for me and my roommates...i ended up writing a nice heartbroken text to her mom a few minutes ago explaining what was going on and for her to come and pick her up...i took all her stuff and put it on the front porch...i wrote a nice letter to her explaining that i could finally see where everything went south, that their daughter NEEDS, medication or hospitalization for whatever disorder she has, apologized that i couldn't do anything to help her other than "enable" the behavior...i feel like the person i once knew and loves is no longer alive, replaced or possessed by a demon.. that's how bad she is now.

Dolphins lost to the Bills.

Dolphins NEED to win against the Jet's and pray Cincinnati beats the Ravens to make the Playoffs.

Ugh. Stupid Buffalo.

As for football. The loss of the Packers and the steelers didn't look as bad as the loss by the bears against the Eagles.

And now the Packers and Bears, THE oldest rivalry in pro football, play to win the division next week.

Cracken, the Dolphins also make the playoffs in any three-way tie scenario (as they have the best conference record).

Kinnison, I would not be surprised if Packers-Bears is the Sunday night game in the coming week. NBC usually wants a "win and you're in" game for the last week, and the Eagles, also in one of those games, played last night, so I doubt they'd be in prime time two weeks in a row.

starting to listen to country music....and enjoying it...wtf happened to my life.

just watched the movie 'Ted' hilarious!

edit:

finished the Blacklist campaign, need to finish up the rest of the single player missions..though taking a break and going through the call of duty black ops series...my one army buddy from osut keeps begging me to play black ops II, i'm not into zombies mode, but he said he plays hardcore team deathmatch, so that is cool. kinda gamed out...i played quite a bit today, went outside once to walk the dog...and made him run with me, should be more fun doing interval training with him.

Seems I also forgot the Eagles were playing the Bears Sunday night, so a team was going to be on Sunday night two weeks in a row, in any event. NBC picked Eagles-Cowboys.

Merry Syphilis and a Happy Gonorrhea!

So, I have joined the club of a-holes who have had to fire people right before Christmas. Technically I don't have the authority to fire anyone, but right now I'm the "acting" managing clinical director dentist in my office. Our regular office manager has been out sick all month, so I and the acting office manager both had to fire our hygienist who has been with the company for years over something that still makes me wonder how bad it was. I try to take solace in the fact that it was not my decision but I was just the messenger, but that doesn't help much.

When she figured out where the conversation was going and said, "You're firing me??" that's when it all hit the fan. Her hands and voice were shaking and she was in denial, then she was bargaining, then she was bawling her eyes out. And this all happened on the last effing day of work before Christmas. Feel horrible for her; feel like a total jerk.

In other news, ummmm... Did I mention I have five daughters? Work and kids, that's my life.

I went to a party down the Cape last night, drove back today. Getting down there was horrible between traffic and weather, but it was a fun time.

Not much to report, other than I'm slowly getting back to normal after working 3 weeks of long and stressful days without a day off. Been watching a lot of the modern Doctor Who on Netflix. Just about caught up.

FIVE daughters!?

How many guns did you biuy!? Sweet dear lord, man.

You gonna try for a son or is the wife waving the white flag at this point?

Wildstar: Yeah, the three way tie with Balt, San Diego and Miami results in Miami winning the tie breaker. Honestly, the way the 'Phins played vs. Buffalo, they don't DESERVE to be in the playoffs. That offensive line is attrocious.

Merry Xmas guys!

Before my Christmas really got started last night, it was already better than last year: Last Christmas, I was mostly in bed w/ the flu, and my fever broke just in time to make my little sister's get-together the day after Xmas.

Today, bowling with my brother was involved...three games that had a score over my league average.

EDIT: Last Christmas, though, was great for one thing...it was my first with my big sister in my life.
