Do I agree? Of course not.
As Hannibal said, the SW universe is so big that there is enormous potential for a variety of games in different genres. FPS games based on Star Wars are notably thin on the ground (DF, JK and MotS)...as are RPGs. I agree that we've seen quite a few space shooters and racing games, but other genres have been sorely under-used.
We're getting Jedi Outcast...but I hope that isn't the end of the line for the SW FPS. I'd like to see others in this series, with even more features.
I also think there is room for a SW game along the lines of UT, with an MP bias, excellent bots, balanced weapons, and a wide variety of MP modes (all bot friendly).
I'm hoping the rumoured SW Bounty Hunter game is going to be another FPS, with different gameplay, ie, no lightsabers or Force powers but a reliance on more technology, and with a variety of drivable vehicles.
I'm looking forward to Knights Of The Old Republic, but I probably won't be playing any MMORPGs, so Star Wars Galaxies is not on my wanted list at the moment. I'd like to see more offline RPGs, though...especially if KOTOR is going to be something like Iso3D (not my favourite perspective). I'd like a 1st person or over-the-shoulder 3rd person SW RPG. And a multitude of sequels, of course.
We have Galactic Battlegrounds, a SW RTS. Although that is not my favourite genre, I have encountered a couple of titles that I enjoyed - and I liked playing the GBG demo (short as it was). So I'd like to see more SW RTS games, preferably with much-improved game engines, and a great variety of gameplay.
I'm not so fussed on seeing a lot of movie tie-ins, though. I'll probably just avoid anything with Episode II, or Episode III in the title. I prefer originality...such as that displayed in DF and JK. Introducing new characters, new stories, new weapons and technology all add to the SW universe, and that is what I'd like to see.
I wouldn't mind seeing a SW game that combines a lot of genres, too, like space battles, FPS, RPG, etc. Shadows Of The Empire attempted this, but failed miserably IMHO. If it was more cohesive, with a strong storyline, etc., and smooth transitions in-game between the different elements, it would work better, I think.
Here's another idea for a Star Wars game...
Star Wars Commandos - a tactical FPS where you are part of a team of Rebel or Imperial Commandos, undertaking a variety of missions.
I don't think there will ever be enough
SW titles to keep everyone happy.
