Can someone give me the name of a free web hosting site that DOESN'T COMPLETELY SUCK. I need it so people can download stuff from me.

Free webhosting is going down the drain. You can find the occasional no-ads/no frills service, like I have on Dal.net, but that requires you to have a registered nickname on their IRC network (and why shouldn't you! #sam-n-max is there).

There is no such thing as a server with the details of which you speak... freeservers.com used to allow it, but now they are anal about it too

. Y'know, what you could do is:
Upload the file to a server (like Geocities)
Then, make a quick page on geocities with a link to that file.
Give everyone the URL to that quick page.

I have to do that some times because i can't find a good server.

its a shame that ads have to overpower everything

but i found a free hosting site with no ads:
brinkster

i have a site there, but i didnt get working on it much, but there dosent seem to be a catch, or anything.
i think you get 30 mb's free

the only problem is that the url is kinda long, (eg.- my url is www27.brinkster.com/jollyr - dont make fun of it, im new to html, and im lazy

)
but you can redirect it with www.cjb.net
witch will give you whatever.cjb.net
(cjb might use ads, cant remember)

just go to the hosting thing, and select the free one
