Taunts in multiplayer ! ?

G'day space pimps,

Sorry if this question has been asked before.

So anyway, are they in? How cool would it be to have an auto taunt every time you scored a frag.

I think Nelsons laugh from 'The Simpsons' would be good for me.

Oh yes, who's making any all aussie battle clans?

well, other Q3 based games have a taunt for each character so i dont see why this game wouldn't. It would definately rock saying "Rebel Scum" after killing someone hehe. The stormtrooper model for q3 that was just released does that

I really really really really x 234876 hope they have a pre recorded chat menu like Tribes 2 or WTCW. Tribes 2 did it perfect. They had clear commands and some nice taunts that allowed your character to go "WOOHOO" and then dance on the corpse. I loved that part of T2. I hope there is some sort of setup like this for multi. If not oh well but it would add alot of fun.

WTF are are these anyways? Im baffled.....

lip-synched real audio (ie you can hear it if you are close to the person doing it) taunts would rock
but you wouldnt be able to add your own

Tribes 1 voice com was far superior to Tribes 2's. :] I sincerely hope a feature likened to it is put into JK2.

Having shazbot in JK2 would rule, hehe. :] A lot of Tribes players have their roots in JK.

I find taunts to be annoying and stupid.

I got sick of people just POUNDING them in Tribes 2, etc... and Tribes 1 for that matter.

If you want to be 13 that's fine, but must I constantly be reminded that you are?

Naturally I can turn these things off, etc... but, I don't miss an opportunity to *****.

Most mature Tribes players use them more for communication...I have the enemy flag, I need an escort, etc etc. But it's nice to be able to say Damnit! or You Idiot! when the occassion calls for it. :] Also, with soundpacks such as Team 5150's, classic lines from movies (including Star Wars) are involved. It's obviously too late to make suggestions to Raven on what to do, I'm just hoping they incorporate something intuitive and expandable.

I'll all for it, as long as the ability to turn off some/all of them is in place (for example, UT let you disable auto taunting), because some people jam on the buttons just to annoy you.. ; p

But they can certainly be fun and add a bit more "zest" to the gaming experience. It'd be cool to use Kyle's one-liners in SP as well.. (I know this isn't Duke or Serious Sam, but it'd be fun nonetheless... ).

Otherwise I'll miss the sarcasm from MotS... ; )
