The demo would take all of what? A day?

Seriously, the only reason we dont have a demo is because Lucasarts is $ hungry. The game is awesome so they should have nothing to hide - it would take Raven all of a day to release a demo now that the game is gold.

I think it would take a lot more than a day to do a demo, even if they picked an SP and MP level from the finished game... They have to strip out the other content, then debug it, then test it thoroughly. I mean, how many demos have you seen released recently that required patches just to play them?

I don't know why you think LEC is dollar-hungry either. I'm sure there will eventually be a demo, and if you are unsure about purchasing the game, then simply wait until a demo is released to try it out. You make it sound as if someone who is unsure of the game will simply buy the game anyway. If you are really not sure of the game, I can't recommend just buying it anyway.

I'm almost sure there will be a demo...we just have to be a little patient...and wait for the Ravenites to recover from crunch mode in getting the full game finalised and out of the door.

Welcome to the forums, BTW. Here... *hands over a chocolate Jedi medallion* There you go.

It probably would take a bit longer than that, but no doubt there will be one. Only, in a month from now after everyone has the game anyway.

Actually Lucas Arts usually wants to release demos. Raven were the ones who didn't want to make a demo. They said that they didn't want to but it was up to Lucas Arts.

Re: Re: The demo would take all of what? A day?

Actually according to Lucasarts naming policy so far
(DF,DF2:JK,JK2:JO) it would have to be called
Jedi Outcast 2: Jedi Master !

Btw: Is it confirmed that there 'll be no demo, or is all above just speculation ?

Have you tried to play the Global Operations Demo Under XP. That thing needs about 50 patches before it will run right.

Man, Global Ops sucked under any operating system. Why? Cuz it was a BETA! Instead of releasing a decent demo, they released a f****** BETA! Good thing Raven didn't do that. Besides, the game's only 7 days away.

Even if the demo comes out after the game, I'm still gonna download it after I play the full version, just to make sure there isn't something different in the demo

Actualy making a demo for a quake engine is quite easy. You just have to take all but one .pk3 file out of the base directory. Add a cheasy end(Thank you for playing the demo) screen and you got a demo. Fix the cd crack to not work which Raven knows how to do then you have a demo.

Do you really want the demo now? Personally, I don't. The full game is here in a week and i'd rather find out about the weapons/gameplay when I get it. In a way i think the demo would spoil some of the anticipation i have for the game rather than whet my appetite.

I agree Hoowl. It's really too late for a demo now. Timing is wrong.

Peoples' anxiety is at a fever pitch. Best leave that as it is.. hehe.

I'm suspicious when developers don't bring out demos. Are they trying to hide something?

Since you got JK2 yesterday already, why would you want a demo ? Or do you want to imply you were j/k (pun intended ) ?

The developers want to give us a nice surprise once the game comes out. With a demo you will kind of know whats going on,but without one it makes it all better by having you find out for yourself what the game is all about.

Don't forget the Ravenites are working on Soldier of Fortune 2 for us as well which will be another great game on top of JediKnight 2. I think there will be a demo coming out for this game a couple of weeks after its release.

Yes there will be a demo, it was confirmed a while back. But it will be after the release of the game.

i really think that anyone who is on this forum (with a certain degree of reasonability) is going to buy the full version, so discussion of the demo has therefore no purpose

Lightbulb clarification

Just wanted to clarify one point- no one at Raven ever said (that I saw) that WE or anyone else for that matter didn't want to make a demo. I think someone said they would rather not make a demo AT THAT MOMENT because it would take away from final production time, and that a decision on when and if a demo was released would ultimately rest with Lucas. That's a far cry from saying we (now they ) don't want to do a demo at all.
