nooB question

is assets0.pk3 and assets1.pk3 the same as q3's pak0.pk3? because i can't find and pak0 and i can't find any of the character models in assets

It is the same idea. The good thing about it being assests is that it starts with "A"

Pak files are read in order when the Launch. Lets say Assets had a file located in its textures/base_wall/ named johnny.tga

If I took that file out, put it in my PK3 file named Knight.pk3 so its path is textures/base_Wall/johnny.tga the game will look at that file as the more "up to date" version...

This happend because obviously "K" has a higher value then "A"

however in quake, you have to make sure the filename is above the value of P for Pak0, hence why thier pak files work in sucession pak1,2,3,4 etc.

You might know all this already... if you do this is information for the community. <=) As it is always intedned for.
