Saber lock

With the new patch there is a lot of saber locks and I don't mind it, well what is the best way to break a lock.

Some say hit primary fire button repeatedly.
Others say hit primary fire and alternate fire repeatedly.
Still others say use force push.

So what is best?

Hitting fire repeatedly makes you push with your saber against your opponent.

In addition to that you *can* use force push. You can see that you are about to win the saber lock when the opponent starts to bend backwards.

The ability to win a saber lock depends on your ability to press primary fire repeatedly very quickly and how much force is left in your force pool so you can force push repeatedly.

If your opponent has a higher level of force push than you have and you are both hitting primary fire at the same speed, it is likely that he will win due to the stronger force push.

I am not sure if force push below level 3 affects saber locks at all because in single player it says "level 3 force push allows you to push out of saber locks". Maybe this is just due to the way that you learn one ability after another in single player. Probably level 2 force push also does help you in multiplayer (at least if your opponent doesn't use it at all).

Hope it helped.

just find a l33t script and use it, like pretty much every one else does.

you'll find people that can win every saber lock, every time, in under 2 seconds. That's a lot of mouse presses, eh?

Thumbs down

Xzzy: why talk him into cheating? Using scripts for these purposes is cheap, it spoils the fun plus it is hardly worth the effort in this case.

igor: Don't do it...

where did you get the idea I was trying to talk him into anything?

It's called sarcasm.

Saber locks are pretty much a death warrant for an honest player because you usually get knocked on your ass, or best case the lock ends with a draw.

In other words "saber lock strategy" is pointless, because you can't win unless you cheat too.

Don't sweat too much over saber lock scripts guys. I haven't lost a saber lock in over a month and I've never used one. The truth of it is that you can hit your key faster than a script can hit it for you.

I am still betting that ArtifeX is really an AI program that escaped from MIT or something like that.

Either that, or he has a very high midechlorian count.

  • And now it is my intention to go play video games for several hours.

Hey, all you Georgians stop ganging up on the rest of the world!

:P

As for saber locking...
I'd love to hear SnowMongoose in on this one. Is scripting a sure-fire win for a saber lock cheating?

Oops, Xzzy...

Must have missed the sarcasm-tag here...

Sorry for that, I hope I didn't insult you by assuming that you would cheat...

I've only lost one saber lock in the last month, but that was due to lag (...no...really!!). The rest I either won or they were a draw. I don't use scripts for anything...I mean...whats the point...I bought this game to play it not program it to play for me.

Anyhow...press attack like a madman...if you're on a force server use push periodically to give you the edge or to recover a bit.

After I knock someone back I'll usually just walk up and "spank" them a little, only once did I use the backstab to kill them (I think it's lame). As far as I'm concerned the fact that I beat them in the lock is humiliating enough...no need to drive the point to death.

Just a little tap to let them know who their daddy is does the trick.
