Help! Singleplayer need guidance!

ok this is getting really tough! I'm playing singleplayer and i'm now on that rack deathstar thingy and here try and help me i'm stuck. I'm at the part where there is an elevator thats like half from the door you just open and it doesnt move. you go on top of it and into the red small crouch thingy and there is an elevator that works. What next! I've gotten in and out of that elevator. What do i do?

Uh, horrible description, but maybe that's just me...

I think that's the part where you jump on top of the elevator and ride it up and down, there should be an opening some where for you to jump through into another shaft...

I think you should go with Datheus his guidance, there is a little corridor that you can dive into when the elevator passes by it, given the fact that you're ON the elevator rather than in it.
