How do you convert your own songs to MP3 format to set to play in a level?

wave files ? mid files ?

you dont HAVE to convert 'em..they work fine in mp3 format..
all u gotta make is a music folder in your OWN pk3 file and add your sound there..and I guess its a bakgroundssound...then what u need to do is:
1. Deselct everything in JK2radian (hope u use this)
2. Press 'n'
3. Scroll down to worldspawn and add the key: music (I think, else its music).... and the value: music/yoursong.mp3

Use freeware programs like cdEX to convert your songs in CDs to mp3 files.

Well i dunno if its illegal to mention making mp3 files on this site but im sure one of the moderators will cut my message's mp3 part if its illegal

Information is free, the actual including of the MP3 in your PK3 is illegal.

Of course, you can't mention the word "bomb" or yell "terrorists are attacking!" on a plane, but that's just because flight attendants are all paranoid.

No, seriously- As Rich tells in his tuts, wavs should be prefered, because JK2 has some issues with mp3's on specific options. And if you use low quality sounds they aren't much bigger.
