Yup, it was a joke (wasn't my idea, I nearly forgot about April Fool's day, thankfully not everyone did).
Whether or not JK2 (or Dark Forces 3 or whatever you want to call it) will ever really come out or not is up to LEC and whomever they may be working with. Until we have official confirmation from them, consider it just a rumor. Our "news item" was not official, it was a hoax.
I liked the part about the wookies myself.

Ugh, not the JK2/D F 3 argument again. Just look at it this way. Whether it was Jedi Knight 2 or Dark Forces 3, the game would have rocked, just like it's predecessors. They aren't making a sequel anyway, so it makes little difference.

Well, the rumor that the game may be in production is still around.. we didn't make up that part. So you never know..
Maybe they'll drop further hints or confirm/deny the rumor at this coming E3 (have I said that already enough times?).
