Sam & Max 2: German magazine preview
The German magazine GameStar has a Sam & Max: Freelance Police preview in its current issue. I've scanned it for you.
Sam & Max 2 preview
Seeing the lower left screenshot I understand what Steve Purcell meant when he was talking about "hilarious animation" in his comment on the cancellation.
Please be aware that they rated the potential to be only "Gut" (="Good") because they have a policy that prevents any better preview rating ("Very good", "Excellent") before they actually played the game or watched someone else play live.

It's strange how a preview of a game that looks ever more awesome can make me so sad.
I don't think I've seen actual gameplay moving yet, but judging by all this stuff, they've finally managed to make a decent SCUMM system in 3D. It looks great, and probably plays easily too. Argh!
LucasArts could easily torture us forever by slowly releasing great screenshot after great screenshot from this game.

I'm forever going to be haunted by this. Not only did LucasArts cancel Sam and Max 2, they canceled their first point and click adventure since CMI. I'm gonna go cry some more.
