Mod Requests Thread (#4)

Same deal as before. Do you have an idea for a KotOR or TSL mod you would like, But don't know how to make it or have the time. Then this is where you can make your mod request, but since you are making a request you must understand that modding is usually a hobby that People do in there spare time and that they have Full time jobs. When you make a request please keep this in mind.

Ok this time were going to try this thread with a few rules, for posting in this thread. I'll keep this as brief as possible.

1. This thread is for the discussion of mod requests. Any discussion of how to make a mod or off topic discussion will be directed to the main Holowan Forum or deleted (@ moderator discretion).

2. Before you make a request please check the Tools and mods stuck, http://www.pcgamemods.com/6/ and http://www.lucasfiles.com/ KotOR section. Before posting your request it is possible that your desired mod has been made already.*note TSL mods are being posted in the KotOR section @ PCGM. This is only Temporary as a new TSL section is in the works.

3. When you make your request please be descriptive and take the time to think about what it is you would like to see, after all you’re the one making the request but if someone chooses to make it they will need as much information about it as possible. Also it takes time and effort to make a mod and the request should involve thought and effort on your part.

4. DO NOT Request Porting Any Resources from another game into KotOR, This includes Porting resources from TSL to KotOR or Vise versa . Taking copyrighted and proprietary materials from another game and Using then in KotOR Mods will not be Tolerated as this is quite illegal.

5. Final, Please be respectful towards Holowan's Modders.

Heyas, posted this in the last request thread, but it was closed down soon after I did, so here it is again:

I wondering if any of you modders were planning on recreating atleast a portion of the real KoTOR2 ending? As we all know, the ending was severely cut, and the voice files / dialogue still exists.

To anybody about to post to this thread.
Please before posting a request. Take a few moments to browse and search through the forums for your request to see if anybody has taken an interest in the same subject. You may have to browse through the first 3 pages of the forum but people cycle through threads here very frequently so occasionaly a WIP thread may get bumped down a ways. The above 2 topics covered in my post comprised the majority of the last 3 pages of the old mod request thread. The less people ask 10, 15, or 20 times in those threads the more likely those threads don't need to be remade as Mod request 3 and 4.

You know the female PC head with the blue eyes, and whitish hair tied up in a bun? I was wondering if someone could remove the final Dark Side transition for it, but keep the first Dark Side transition. (Female PCs look ugly when fully on the Dark Side)

One of my major annoyances with TSL is that many of the containers that you see are "fake" that is, the model for a plasteel cylinder is there, but unuseable. If someone went through and made all the containers openable with random leveled loot, it would add to the experience of the game in my opinion. At least, it would make the game feel that much more finished.

All enemies should drop whatever respective weapons/armor they are using.

That one you can easily do yourself. Do the following:
-Download KotOR Tool
-Open KotOR Tool
-Browse "KotOR 2"
-Browse "ERFs" -> "Texture Packs"
-Browse "swpc_tex_tpa.erf" -> "P"
-Zoom down to the files name "PFHC__.tpc"

These are the textures that are mapped to your character's head. I'm not sure which female your using but double click until you find the right head. The ones named "PFHC0_.tpc" are the light side ones, and the ones named "PFHC0_D_.tpc" are for the darkside. The bigger the number the more darkside. All you need to do is extract the texture you want to use to replace the crappy ones (so lets say you think D1 is okay but D2 looks crazy - extract D1 then). Dump the extracted file in your override directory and then rename it to the file you want to replace (so rename ____D1.tga to ______D2.tga, and now the D2 texture will be replaced).

This can be done in two minutes plus install time for KotOR Tool.

I just want someone to make a mod that could disable some weird effect on every space ship in Kotor2 because ofn these I and everyone who play this game with laptop suffer from freezing and can't play game at all.... since there're a weird visual effect in Wrecked Ebon Hawk at the intro....

I know this is possible. People have talked about for TSL, and they did it KOTOR. How about taking away all the feat special effects and force special effects so it is more like the movies?

I know what you are supposed to do to the 2da files to get this to work, but I just can't get it to work.

I was wondering if any of you skinning wizards out there have thought about doing some touch-up work on the robes. Specifically, changing that ridiculous looking olive green collar that a bunch of the robes have into something a little more color-coordinated. I'm currently wearing "Silvar's Robe", and can't understand why it doesn't have a dark brown collar. Similarly, the "Dark Jedi Knight Robe" would look 100% better (IMO) with a black collar. Just two examples.


Since originally posting this, I took a look at all of the "jedi master" type robes. Eight of the 15 textures use this olive green color for the collar. Maybe somebody forgot to add the proper colors?

Sorry if it's been asked already but...

1. Could someone please create a mod that makes it so that when you equip headgear it doesn't give you any graphic... you just have your head? Sorry bioware and Obsidian, but those are the worst models I have seen in any game to date. I don't even use headgear because I feel like superman in his leet blue and red uber suit with my chest puffed out. The Richard Simmons look. Where did they come up with those HUGE face masks and bug eyed metal heads?

2. On the same vein, while in TSL I think the robes are vastly improved over those hilarious plastered textures they called robes in KOTOR1, am I alone in my mind numbing horror when I finally upgraded my stat-less Dark Jedi Robe to a Dark Jedi Knight or Master robe and it is quite obviously a dress instead of a robe? What are we, Peewee Herman? Seriously, I mean of course they look excellent on the females and why wouldn't they? Clearly the way the hips bell out is tailored for a female body but, um... why... that's all. If someone could boost a the first teir graphic robe or a second teir with some nice stats like that powerful robe at the end.. that would be nice. While that robe is good... for a specific class especially, it's BROWN!? A dark version would be nice. Maybe if that's easy to mod I'll have to try it.

3. Ok, this might have been tried, or might have been done for KOTOR1, but would it be at all possible to add a line to each NPC's dialog, or if it's a non dialog menu NPC maybe allow then dialog options and just add one line IE:

1. Sup Buuuuddy!
2. You don't know the Power of the darkside!
3. No Luke *I* am your father...
4. etc etc
5. blah blah
6. (Attack)

The last being my interest. I'm really into devouring all the force in the galaxy then the "Echo" and "Hunger" Kreia drills into you and pratically 80% of the NPCs in the game.. and even back in KOTOR1 was slightly disapointed that you couldn't slaughter everything in an insane rampage of hate (Flophouse dialog anyone?).

I know that would present problems with breaking the game in the case that you killed someone important, but I have beaten the game twice now and am working on number 3 and feel I know well enough who I can kill and win. Maybe the scope of that project wouldn't be worth it though. No idea.

I don't know it is possible but i would be happy to have Jolee-type armored clothes at the start, maybe get them on Harbinger. (I'm no longer Jedi, right? Why, instead of robes, can't I have some really good looking armored clothes in my cabin box?)

I was wondering if someone could make the head on the character shown in the trailer of TSL for TSL of course. I have looked through all the heads for the male PC using the savegame editor and it didn't give me it. So I was wondering if anyone could find/create it as a mod. I would try this myself but I'm not used to real dificult mods andI don't have any graphic editors either even though if I did it would be nice.

I was also wondering if anyone could make a mod to put more Dark Jedi into all the areas with some combat. I miss those battles that were so common on KotOR 1.

hey, I would like to Request a mod

I recently downloaded the kotor tool, which dont seem to wanna run. So, I've just decided to come here, and request lol.. so here goes:

2. a Mod for the Ebon Hawk:
I've been looking for mods to add the prolog's containers and the secret compartment in the cargo hold, is this even possible?

That is a link to envida's mods it has a storage compartment and plasteel cylinders for the ebon hawk. I suggest clicking on the link to envida's site and downloading it there since it has the V1.2 one that fixed a few bugs.

In regards to request's 1 & 3 please read Rule #4 posted by T7nowhere at the beginning of the Thread. We cannot fulfill requests of this nature. Also the discussion of such openly on the forums is enough to either have threads locked or posts deleted.

I am curious though for request number 4 are you asking that of KOTOR 1 or 2. If it is for KOTOR 1 then one of our amazing modelers may eventually be able to acomplish this. However as of right now we can't import new models into TSL.

In TSL the exile describes there former lightsabre to atton, and then the desciption you choose is used to create it latter on. The options allow you to descibe a dual bladed light sabre but not two duel weilded lightsabres (ie a normal and a small offhand one).
I'd like a mod that allows this.

There are already a few mods that give you a lightsaber early in the game. Check Redhawke's website and check PCgamemods.com.

Otherwise, you can always use KSE: http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php to get your lightsaber at any time.

honestly, I dont see anything wrong with adding files from k2 to k1 or vice versa.. it cant be illegal, it's like.. i bought the games, so I kinda have the rights.. besides, modding only effects your viewing, it doesnt access everyones game all around the world or anything.. anyhow, the XBox version uses the faces from K1 apparently, so it cant be "copywrite"

Enemy force powers

I noticed the enemy dark jedi's dont use any force powers against you.

Are there any mods that allow this. If not can someone make it?

For 1 even if we could import models to TSL there would be no way to get the heads in there as the heads contain animations and we don't have the tools to deal with anims.

The problem comes up not with porting models for your own game, its when you release them for public use that is illegal and will not be tolerated on these Forums and most public hosting sites.

I am interested in being able to see what Immunities/Resists are on my character.

Here is the reason. I would like to be able to see if certain items stack or not.

For example:

Does Sonic Immunity 10 stack with another source of Sonic immunity?

Does Sonic Resistance 10 stack with another source of Sonic Resistance?

The UI where stats are shown doesn't really give the players a way to see if items are correctly affecting their character.

Inquiring minds would like to know.

immunities work in different ways than resitances so it is impossible to make the two stack

Immunityes work in a way that negates that a certian precentage of the dammage and a restistance negates a cetian amount of hit points worth of damage ie 10/- negates 10 hp worth of damage from that damage type but resistances stack on resistances and immunities stack on immunities.

Edit: sorry about that i didn't read the post completely but the answer is yes they do stack as is the case for all RPGs

I've tried searching the forum but didnt find anything about it, so here it comes. Would it be possible to have a mod for TSL with the player character from KOTOR and also the lightside starforge robe ?

Er... Darth333, I don't have a mod to give out lightsabers early... In the Exile's Item Pack I only give you color crystals...

TSL Robe Skins requests

I hope I'm not being demanding or anything, but I'd like a reskinned/textured Jedi Robe where the cloak is camouflage colored (with a dark green and black under robe).. like woodland pattern camo (or digital camouflage like the United States Marine Corps (OORAH!) combat utility camos would perhaps be cool... or both )

Robe could be called something like Jedi Recon Robes, or just Recon Robes. They'd offer moderate protection (like knight robes), with +stealth bonuses, and
bonus feat: force camouflage, and bonus feat: sneak attack I, II, and III. Maybe stealth run as well, but I dunno

Desc something like:

As the Sith began to hunt down the remaining Jedi, surviving Jedi took to hiding. They sought to erase all knowlege of their existance, and covered their tracks, hiding in remote systems and laying low. A few Jedi encamped in the forests of (Yavin IV? Endor? Kashyyk?) developed these robes. They are designed to blend in with the surrounding wilderness, either to avoid unfriendly eyes, or provide opportunity to ambush them.




I guess that may be a bit powerful as is, but it could perhaps get underlay upgrades as well (I think overlay would be stupid for a robe though).



Also, if it's okay with MonoGiganto, I'd like to use his DTL-19 rifle model to make a sniper rifle to go with this robe (as an alternate weapon, I mean to truely take advantage of the benefits you need to get up close and personal and saber them right? ). It'd be an upgradeable rifle with quite a bit of power and accuracy even not upgraded , the main feature though, is a longer range. Perhaps 40 meters, or even 50.
This would be kinda cool because you'd get to blast enemies well before they realize you're there.

Heck, I'd even go so far as to add a line to baseitems.2da and ammunitiontypes.2da to make sniper rifles have a different sound than normal blaster rifles (I'd go for that high pitched sound like you hear a lot of ship lasers using). Maybe give them another dam die rather than giving them too much bonus damage. They could be a completely different class with several rifles in there. I think it'd only make sense to add bonus feat: sniper shot to all of them, improved and master's to more powerful ones.


Also, does anyone know the skins for the w_laserfire models? I can't cheat and just get the textures from modlops like I can with lightsabers. I'd like to see green blaster bolts (but not bowcaster)

My Request (tricky, but i hope someone's commited to it):

I dunno about you guys, but i loved darth nihilus - how often is it that you see a Sith Lord that doesn't speak common?

Anyhoow, can someone make a remodel of Darth Nihilus and an item that allows you to equip that model and remove it with the item?

the remodel is a mask and robe change - the mask to be made of metal and all details removed from the mask, save two traingular 'holes' one for the eyes and one for the mouth - both red. The arms on the Nihilus model to become loose 'robey-things' as seen on Kreia and some other robes. also, for the new cuffs on this model and the bottom of the robe, could someone retexture in some red Sithy designs.

If you have the saber, will it break later quests? (when people give you components for a saber, or when you start to construct one, etc...

EDIT: For another mod, I want a rocket launcher which uses the proficiency of heavy weapons, not a wrist launcher. Just a big ol shoulder held launcher. It would make some battles look more... interesting.

I've tried it before (thinking since it was the only corpse you find the plasma torch on), but it spawned several of the same items once you're in the Dormitory Levels of Peragus.... somehow the game is translating that very same corpse with most of the corpses in that area...

TSL doesn't seem to be placeable 'friendly'... Perhaps a unique encounter would work, but I've pretty much given up on placeables. Time for me to learn some scripting tricks ... hehe...

Hmm, I am aware of that.

I didn't modify placeable. I am using the script to fetch nearest corpse near kreia's corpse (whis is unique) and create item on that.
