WHOO HOO!

Mon Calamari are one of my favorite species.

I can't wait till you're done with this so I can skin myself up a custom Mon Cal Jedi! I really like the alien Jedi, hope to see lots more (Kit Fisto would be very cool, and an Ishi Tib Jedi would rock, since they're one of my other favorite species Keep up the great work!!

BradFu!

PS - I agree on the eyes, pull 'em out some more and it'll be perfect

Nice, although I don't care for Ackbar, that is a very good representation of him, I love your dengar model though, I'm wondering when itll be available?

The way a man deals with defeat is just as big a mark of his character as how he comes home from a victory.

He's saying that you make models so quickly there will not be any good people left to model by the time that he learns how to model.

If that makes any sense...

hey moooa, great model you got there!

my ONLY constructive criticism:

- all the mon calamari i've seen seem to have a gut of some sort - their belts hang pretty low. your model is very fit and trim compared to them. here's what i mean:

http://www.starwars.com/databank/spe.../index_eu.html

and a few questions:

- is he a generic mon calamari or is it ACTUALLY supposed to be admiral ackbar?

- if he's generic, do you have some kind of background story for him - i mean, is he a jedi, bounty hunter, etc?

- i always dig what people come up with regarding sounds/taunts ... any ideas for this guy?

good luck with the rest of this project. can't wait to see the final product. keep up the great work!

Very nice, Moooa! I can't wait till you've finished him up and released him I hope you won't mind if I do a re-skin on him immediately when you release him, I'm just REALLY looking forward to making myself a Mon Calamari Jedi Would it be possible to make his belt a seperate Surface that can be turned off? If not, that's cool

Keep up the good work! Any idea what you might do when you finish this one? Hope to see more aliens from you!

I think the upper lip needs some definition. Or maybe the lower? Anyway, something needs to be sticking out more around the mouth.

Thx

Thanx adillon, I don't have this ref pics !
And I'm think u're right, i gonna widen the torso, put the belt lower and maybe put the head more forward. For the lips I'm afraid to have too much polygon after increasing the definition
Adillon, I'm making like Absath and Bloodriot for there mandolarion model different skin, one Ackbar, a generic mon calamari (like on your pics) and one or 2 original concept.
For the sound, i first finish the model and put some taunts and different sounds but if someone knows where I can find some Ackbar sound it will be great
Bradfu if u want when i finished the first skin I can give the jpg so if u want we can put your skin in the pk3

hey moooa,

the best sound i've found so far is "may the force be with us" - don't know if it really works as a taunt, however.

check it out here:

http://www.mattsmoviesounds.freeserv...kbar_force.wav

it may need some cleaning up, too. i'll keep looking and see what else i can find.

Well, for a taunt, I might be able to get something from ROTJ if he says anything good (I can't remember ) and if I ever finish the download.

Moooa, I *DEFINITELY* want that Mon Calamari skin. I am eagerly anticipating its completion; the pictures so far look extremely good.

Would you e-mail me the skin or tell me where to download the skin upon its completion? My e-mail address is andy@shadowport.net .

Thanks again!

Moooa, any updates?

I eagerly await this model. I'm hoping to make a cool Mon cal Jedi Knight once you release this model. I asked this before, but you might have missed it in my previous post, but would it be possible to make the belt a seperate surf so it can be turned off for more variety in skinning?

Thanks!
BradFu!

Freaking! I word of advice: You don't need to make him exactly has Akbar, Akbar was an old moncalamari. This model should represent a average moncalamari, it's up to the skinners to make the differences. Eyes look fine to me, it gives a younger look.

Due to less of time, I'm only making 2 skin : ackbar and a simple mon calamari.
I've finished the mesh and skinning the first 2 lod
And bradfu, for the belt i will use a separate texture.
I will post in 1 or 2 hour some update pics.
thanks for all the feedback

hey moooa! just a little bit of info i think may interest you regarding your dengar model. i think i read a post somewhere that pointed out the fact that you can see what looks like part of the stormtrooper's armor on dengar's back. and i believe you said that you might modify it and re-release an updated version at some time. am i right so far?

if i am, DON'T CHANGE A THING ON DENGAR!!!

here's why (not the picture, just read the text and you'll see what i mean):

http://www.starwars.com/databank/cha...engar/bts.html

great work, man! keep it up!

Excellent! I hope it's done soon, I really really can't wait to have it Mon Calamari rock!.

Moooa, if you'd like, I would be happy to help you out with some alternate skins. Here's several skins I've done recently.

http://windu.cjb.net/TauwNew.jpg
http://windu.cjb.net/newjedi.jpg
http://windu.cjb.net/shot4.jpg
http://windu.cjb.net/jediknight.jpg

The clothing on all of these is 100% from scratch, the faces heavily modified (except for the Twi'Lek, that's from scratch). If you're interested, feel free to e-mail me, bradfu@msn.com

well then.. shame on me.

EDIT: I'd love to, but jk2.net's download links appear to be down. Again.

Is there any chance that anyone can email the Dengar file to me? del@reid.cx
