Please Help - Help needed for Staff of Kings on DS

I have been stuck for over a week now in Panama trying to get over a river where there seems to be nothing to swing on or jump from. Every time I jump I die!

It is after the wooden brown bridge section. I have fought all the bad guys, but just cannot find a way over the river.
