Vehicle Damage
Can a vehicles performance be hindered by damage in anyway? For example, something happens to a wing on the side that is used for balance, which means the vehicle cannot turn. Or something is wrong with the engine and it won't work or something.
I'd like to see some sort of mechanics in the game. That would be a fun profession IMO.

I don't know for certain, but i expect vehicles will have overall damage, not individual 'hurt zones', and as for damage effecting handling, performance etc, i think that the more damage you take will have a degrading effect on performance but handling will remain the same. I really hope that the devs devise a really good and complex mechanical system for the engines and chasis, it would make it much more interesting to own and maintain a vehicle for me, not just buy and ride, you'd have to take it for services and inspections etc before you go on a long trip. Would be fun to see people stood by their vehicles on the sides of roads waiting for the vehicle rescue service to arrive.
Maybe in the months leading up to the release of the vehicle patch the devs may create that type of system.

And what about locks?
I mean, if I arrive at my favorite cantina, can I lock my speeder? It would be a bit weird if I couldn't....

I haven't the slightest idea on how to start up a speeder and how locks will work but locks will most likely be in the game and they could work like housing. You can set if you only want you to access it (start it), select who you want to access it (for you and your PA for example) or anyone can access it. I have no idea if this is correct but its a calculated guess.

Probably when you have a speeder, you can just walk up to it and hit the "use" button. If it's yours, you jump in and can start driving. If it isn't, it will say, "This is not your speeder", or "This speeder is locked."
I think vehicle maintenance is cool, but I don't want it to be a pain in the ass.

Just like the capsule corp. cars off Dragon Ball Z. Click the capsule, throw it and POOF instant car, or whatever you please...
Then before you know it, there'll be capsule Star Destroyers...
And in the small print
do not use indoors

That would be cool to have something like The BloodFin. Its the speeder Maul uses in EP I. Of course I would modify the crap out of it...

hehe - When you mentioned capsule SDs, I got this mental picture of the roof of a tiki hut on top of the bridge, with scattered wood below. :-)
