Angry We don't need this!

Mods, there's a thread you need to see under Galactic Discusions. It's supposed to be an Episode 2 Trailer. I'm afraid Bill has returned. Sue him!!! We don't want him here!

Well we certainly don't need him making a new log-in every other week and ruining our site! I say that the mods sue 'im! I hope he never comes back.

why don't you just get Chris to ban his IP Adress, then no one on his computer can get on ad long as he has the same IP Adress, and i willing to bet that he has no idea how to change it.

Just hope his IP is static.

You can always ban his subnet if it's dynamic though.

we're looking into this... Obsolete also posted stuff that i deleted this morning.

If you notice hints at porn-posting from people's profile, do not hesitate to contact us. We want to come down on this as hard as we can; there really is no place whatsoever for this kind of thing.

That's pretty sad.. if I were a mod here, I'd give him a taste of my banning gun just for pulling a stunt like that. ; p

We can't ban people. At least I can't. If someone needed to be banned, I'd have to contact Chris or Sherack I suppose. That's kind of worrisome.

You're a MOD but can't ban people? Why not?

Because banning is a rather drastic measure and the decision to do so should be handled by the higher powers. But I think mods should have temp banning, "like one day banning" capabilities so we can silence jerks like Bill and Obsolete and not just go around trying to delete all their posts.

Yea I agree. So you can ban them for a day and Chris can look over to see if he deserves more. And so you don't have to run around and delete posts.

The mods do have the ability to ban people, although that is only a temp ban. They really should check their control panels.

Hey Kurgan! Finally got away from JK and JKII.net?

Anyways, maybe only supermods can ban people. regular Mods don't really need to ban people, deleting the posts is enough until an admin shows up, right? Anyways, there muct be something we can do to stop this crap from gettingt hrough. Even if it means turning off img coding, i'm for it if it stops the likes of Bill Thrawn and others. Also, does the board have any filters that you could use?

Perhaps visuals should have to be seconded by another member. and if you don't like it, don't second it. If it's porn you can report it to a mod.

Okay, this is what the mods can do:

-Delete posts/threads
-Edit others' posts.

And they can only do so on the forums they're assigned to. For example, a moderator assigned to Scenario editing can't edit a load of crap in the feedback section..

How do I know? I'm a moderator myself

(http://www.xwlegacy.net, look for Cloud -if you absolutely HAVE to know ).

Most of the time, people get away with a warning. Sometimes, tough, the guys realises their mistakes and leaves by themselves, leaving behind a "I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused message". In the worser cases, tough, the admins can ban him and he'll leave leaving behind a trail of blood..

Okay I posted that when he had posted about 57 posts in under 3 minutes...which sounds impossible. But oh well. I was pretty ticked off at that moment...

Thats not possible is it!

*gets out calculator*

Its not! According to the thing where you can't post more than once every 30 seconds it would take 17.1 minutes to do it.

XwingLegacy uses Infopop, and we use vBulletin. The two are similar, but our mods can do a lot more than that

And Super Moderators like me have a bit more power, but more importantly, we can operate throughout the entire board (ie no need to be assigned)

Well, if my control panel worked I could do a lot more! But seriously, I'm getting pretty panicky with the release date nearing and my powers being "crippled" Help me!
