Driv3r

in march atari are releasing the third game in the Driver series, Driv3r (a.k.a driver 3)

here's the official site

http://www.atari.com/driv3r/flash-UK/flash-UK.htm

i loved the first driver game, the second one not-so-much... but that was because it was only avalible on PSone and having played the first one on PC it was like going back in time.
anyway, this time it's availble for xbox, PS2 and PC.
so i'm really looking forward to it.
not only do you get to drive cars, but also buses, motorbikes and speedboats etc.
also its not just located in one city but mutiple cities worldwide.
this time the story sounds kinda like 'gone in 60 seconds'

any driver fans out there are going to love this i think.

Dunno if it's just me, but the concept just kinda smacks of GTA. Always thought the games were really similar, and this looks like a souped up GTA3.

I'm not complaining though, the graphics look great, very nice and realistic. I wasn't too keen on the first game (mainly because of how hard it was...due to the realism of the gameplay), and I never played the second one. This looks to be pretty snazzy though ^^

The only game i ever was briefly interested in this 'genre' was The Getaway, and only because you could drive past Buckingham Palace(that's were the Queen of England lives, for all you yanks, I mean Americans.... ) and ram the front gate and trash numerous cars against it...how fun. As for the game itself, I never finished it and traded it in, once I had had my fill of the Palace gate ramming....

I have to say, I am an RPG person. Having been rejuvenated for RPG by the magnificent KOTOR, I am now back in Neverwinter, doing the SoU exp pack, soon I will also again travel to Spira, in the amazing Final Fantasy X-2(yes, part two of Final Fantasy 10, as they usually DONT have sequels, despite the consecutive numbers...)...that comes out here in Australia mid next month...cant wait....much RPGing ahead of me...

in the meantime, I also use my JA discs as coasters(see sig)...JA was fun for maybe 3 weeks, now its just....ho hum.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I liked the Getaway too, but only because you could go somewhere and say "Hey! I've been there!" etc.

I was also a fan of the Driver series (I wasn't allowed GTA back then). Unlike GTA, Driver has a decent storyline, GTA seemed a bit too random. Also, the car chases are supposed to be much more cinematic than GTA's.

although I have an increasing grasp of the leet crap, it is a sad reflection on the poor vocabulary standards of kids these days it is cool though if you want to appear to be affllicted with dyslexia......

but is has infiltrated popular culture....
se7en, mentioned above is a great example,
as is good ole y2k(well sorta), although it is an abbreviatioon, is pronounced as a word, and is a noun in certain definitions...

I was wondering, in the early days when we got our first calculators at school and we typed in 71077345, it would appear as "ShellOil" if we flipped the calculator upside down......is this a primitive form of leet... I definitely think it is more clever though....
