The offical word is that GL has not named them.

As for the Whill I think that they are a race that look similar to yoda and yaddle but are in fact a different race. (I have to go and search about)

Well, it says HERE that there's a novel based around Yoda coming out. It might have the answer your looking for... but probably not.

Deep down, each of us knew that we wouldn't find out anyway. Ultimately, does it really matter?

I have no idea what they are called, but on KOTOR (i just got it for xbox) there is another jedi that is of the same species.

BUT

I had a thought, on - http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/yoda/ - it says - species UNKNOWN. So that's the name.

Yoda is part of the species called 'unkown'

I've worked it out for you all.

I'm so clever.

IM NOT GOING TO BE ON THE FORUMS VERY OFTEN NOW! I MIGHT BE ON TIME TO TIME, BUT IVE BASICLY GIVEN UP THE FORUMS NOW!!!!

bye all

Thats made my day.

I think Lucas attempted to put some more mystery around Yoda when it came to defining the species. Or he just couldn't be arsed thinking of one.

It is the question to end all questions. Deeper than the meaning of life, why are we here and how much is that doggy in the window. If GL ever reveals Yoda's species, a vortex in space and time will open up and the whole universe will implode.

On a site note, GL said Yoda is the illegitimate child of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, so my guess is he is an Oggy.

Yoda belongs to a species known as Teranode. An ancient species which was wiped out by Intelligent Tusken Raiders before they were enslaved by Jawas and moved to Tatooine. The Jawas erased the info on Teranodes and Yoda's species was never known.

Teranodes were masters in the force and lived as long a thousand years. Yoda joined the Jedi Order and was undoutly the strongest there. Teranodes failed to sense the Tusken Raiders who tricked, betrayed and the Teranodes into a deathtrap. Yoda and a few others escaped the wrath, but most died.

So there you are... A WHOPPING BIG LIE!!!!!

Guybroom, I agree with you. He belongs to Unknown (pron.OONKUHNOHN)

that's better than what GL could come up with.

anyway, lucas gave answer's to the force and boba, yoda would be better left to speculation.
