False Advertising

I walk into Mcdonalds to grab a bite to eat and for 3.00 I can get a burger, a burger that they advertise as having lots of lettuce and tomato and onions the mother of all hambuger pattys...

of course they cant give you the best meal in the world, but can't they do better than the little puny thing they give you?

there are many forms of false advertising , food, movies, cars. in a movie trailer that is packed ful of action, there might be only one action sequence in the whole show.

I realize that life would be a lot more expensive if everything was perfect, but can't they put less air in the potato chip bags and say that you'll be in debt for the rest of your life if you buy that car because of the interest?

thoughts?

I remember when the Big n' Tastey first came out. I thought I had finally found a McD's sandwhich that I could love but then about eight weeks in, they changed the sandwhiches without telling anyone or saying anything. the meat was smaller and unseasoned and I became more bitter towards McD's.

Oh and I love how chip companies said that the bags were full when they were packaged but then the chips settled, thus explaining the space but now they're coming out with much smaller bags that contain the same amount at the big ones did.

One place that has held up to their adds for me is Wendy's. Their 99 cent menu totally rocks and their ingredients seem fresher than other places.

What I hate is the multi-pack crisps. Say you buy a pack of 12 Walkers cheese and onion, you think you are getting the equivilant of 12 bags of normal crisps, not so. The multi-pack crisps are only 25g, whereas the normal packs are 30g. Con or what?!

What I really hate about McDonald's is the puny amount of fries they try to give you. I mean, they half fill the box and think you won't notice. I always tell them to make sure they fill the box up. Also, the amount of ice they put in their coke. You end up with more ice than coke.

I used to work in McDonald's as a Saturday job when I was sixteen, and trust me folk's, everything is designed to con you out of your money.

Having said all that, I just love a Big Mac and fries!

almost everything is false advertisding, especially the shop channels I think the companies find an advertisement good if it kinda promises more than they deliver, though not directly

I just simply hate those XXL BAGS, NOW MORE CHIPS! (and air)

There used to be a burger place here in DFW that made actual pound burgers. I mean this burger weighed a pound and was big as hell. They shut down though.

Now I go to Jack in the box and get the bacon ultimate cheeseburger. Or wendys and get there 99 cent meal chili and poor it on my wendy burger while i enjoy my frosty.

You know burger king's burgers arent really cooked over an open fire like their commercials say? They just put in a "smokey" flavor to make them taste as if they were cooked over an open fire.

Something like that. I read about it in eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation. Here. check out this excerpt.

Quote:
Burger king's BK Broiler chicken breast patty contains "natural smoke flavor". A firm called Red Arrow Products Compnay specializes in smoke flavor, which is added to barbeque sauces and processed meats. Red Arrow manufactures naturalsmoke flavor by charring sawdust and capturing the aroma chemicals relased into the air. The smoke is capture in water and then bottled, so that other companies can sell food which seems to have been cooked over a fire.
You can find this book in your nearby bookstore if you want to learn the darkside behind the all-american meal.

mauhahahahaha..

I once complained about the amount of Criss-cut fries I got when I "Went Large" on a combo from Carls Jr. I wouldn't normally complain but there were only 3 goddamn fries in the box! It was after a long (3-4 hour drive) from the river. I was learning to drive stick shift...etc.

Anyways...so I'm like WTF 3 fries! So we call the lady over to the table...and we ask "why only 3 fries?" and she replies "I"m only to fill the box up thats it" "But 3 fries take up the box?" "I'm not giving you anymore!"

So I was pissed.

When we were going to leave I was so goddamn hot! I marched straight up to the counter and asked the girl for her manager.

"I am the manager"

I replied hotly "Well what is your name?"

She wouldn't tell me and she wasn't wearing a badge!

So I left a rather disturbing email to Carls Jr about her piss poor attitude and a rather graphic discription of her.

"Rather Chunky, piss poor attitude - face looks of disgust - mounds of zits...brown hair, white - stick up ass!"

McDonalds is an international franchise.. err corporation. Anyway a lizard in the fries is considered a delicacy in.. oh say Thailand.

My worst fast food experiences...

1) I asked for ketsup at the order and they gave me a bag full of those little packets. We used them for fake blood in our first Kung-Fu movie, lol.

2) My friend ordered a shake with his meal. He took a sip and spit it all over the wall by the register and cussed them out. He complained how "crappy it tasted" Needless to say my food tasted like "spit" after that.

3)This is the reason why I will never eat at KFC again..

My friend Mike moved to Portland his Junior year in HS. He got in trouble and had to do some time in the Juvinile Detention Center. Months later he got a job at KFC.

One day the officer that arrested him drove through the window and placed an order. Mike recognized him and decided to play a prank on him... so he took a dump in the mashed potatoes. He gave him his order at the window and they had a short chat...

Mike- "Here's your order sir"
Cop- "Hi Mike, how do you like working here"
Mike- [smiles] "It's cool..here you go. Enjoy your meal"
Cop- "Thanks. Ok... stay out of trouble" [smiles]
Mike- [laughs] "ok you too"

Oh the humanity. Thanksgiving just wasnt the same after that

[mashed potatoes]

This is not a custom sig.

Well I was checking out 6 second abs at Target. Anyways, I'm looking for something to help tone up my stomach (since it has gone teh hell) anyways so I'm looking at it and it sounds great right? It helps you do "the perfect crunch" well its not at the perfect price...its 59.99...and well it kinda looks like a dust buster or a bike pump...anyways. So I decide to wait, thankfully, and look up some reviews on the net. Everyone, besides those who were selling it, said that it SUCKED and it was a piece of junk.

That's the beauty of the internet. You can get some opinions before you purchase and waste your money.

i strongly recommend

www.epinions.com

While, it doesn't have some stuff - it does have some good reviews. And I think you get stuff if you review things for them too!

*BLOCKBUSTER LATE POLICY RANT*

I want to know what the hell is up with you get the rental for 2 days and a HALF. You must return the movie by NOON.

I hate that. I can never REMEMBER. Not to mention. Let's say your late on a movie...and you didn't realise and a week later you get this postcard in the mail

YOU MUST PAY YOUR $5.00 LATE CHARGE FOR THAT MOVIE THAT SUCKED ASS OR WE WILL SENT THIS TO COLLECTIONS!!

I'm like...okay that's a little harsh....so another busy week passes and I get another postcard

YOU STILL OWE US MONEY YOU LATE MOVIE WHORE YOU MUST PAY US NOW. WE HAVE SENT THIS TO COLLECTIONS AND YOUR BLOCKBUSTER ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.THANKYOU

I'm like...WTF?? i paid that like 3 days ago

So I called

"Thank you for calling Blockbuster, this is dumb ass"

"Hi, I just received a postcard..."

"uh huh... can you hold?"

"sure"

5 bazillion years later - I could have driven to the damn thing by now

"Hi, this is dumb ass number2, can I help you"

"Yes, I was on hold, Dumb ass was helping me"

"Okay please hold"

"NOOO"

Silence

"Hi, can I help you"

"YES PLEASE. I have a postcard and it says I'm late but I'm not"

"Okay, let me bring you up in the system, Whats your name"

"Blah Blah"

"Okay, can you hold?"

"WHAT, No I WILL NOT HOLD BITCH"

well you can see where this goes....I hate that place
