Dude, you'll never catch me in a convention. That's just plain creepy. I'm a fan, but not that much of one.
Sorry about your friend.

Dude, your friend is an idiot! Trekies and SW people never get along. What was your friend thinking? Well I wouldnt mind going to one, but I wouldnt dress up though. But if I went again, I might. Some of the conventions are pretty cool from what ive seen from the internet. I would love to go to one. It would be an awesome experiance.

I also would not go to a convention unless it was something like E3 because that would be cool.

You'd never catch me at a convention! You couldn't pay me to talk to those dweebs!
Er, no offense, people of the forum....
Seriously though, most of these people are very scary when it comes to their tv. I advise anyone to stay away from conventions, even if there were babes in bikinis. The mad hordes would be horrific.
I'm cozy in my woods. I don't need any of that city gang violence! Hmph!

No deliberate irony intended....that option was targeted at the "American Pie" demographic...... and provided an option for anyone who wanted to express how conventions are unappealing to them..... responses augur well...it seems, despite this being a STAR WARS Community forum(.....well, in a broader sense - there can be a slither of irony in that... )

I went to E3 a while back, and I mean HOLY HELL was there a **** load of people. Good thing I wasn't claustrophobic .
But I guess I wouldn't mind going to a Star Wars convention. Just as long as they pinned up the creepy people in a little area and let us normal fans browse the exclusive merchandise.

No way would I go to a convention. The people there have no life. I'm a big Star Wars fan, but it's not my life. There's nothing more sad than someone out of touch with reality.

No, I know plenty of Trek and other scifi nuts that goto conventions and have lives. You shouldn't make crap up.
I'd go to a convention, but if I saw any Trekkers, I'd stick with the verbal taunting, although, in the end we'd probably be debating why Star Trek would get it's puny Federation ass kicked.
I get plenty of practice

Well I have to admit I have been to ONE SW 'convention'. We really do not have much down here in Australia, but one year, they managed to get Anthony Daniels, Tim Zahn and Mike Stackpole, needless to say I went there long enough to get a photo of 3po autographed by Daniels, and two comics books(heir to the empire) and one of the XW comix and my I, Jedi novel signed by their respective authors....nice. I had a brief chat with the both of them, who were very pleasant..... thats about it...
I too would love to go to E3, but obviously we don't have one here..there is an equivalent gaming expo but thats mainly held in another state......bugger. I probably would never go to a Trek convention, but I have been to a Trek exhibition that was down here, just looking at sets, props etc..., and yes I did go to the Magic of Myth SW exhibition when it was down here...

I'd goto a Trek convention wearing a SW shirt. I'd also kick a Spock-lookalikes simple ass. I'd do the same to a Vader look-alike. I'malot like Triumph...cept violent.

There's nothing wrong with attending a convention. To assume that everyone who attends these events somehow "don't have lives" or are "out of touch with reality" is absurd.
I've only been to one convention, and it was BotCon 2001 (a Transformers convention).

I would only ever go to E3. I'm not the type of person who would stand around in crowds. I hate crowds of people.
