V19 Torrent Starfighter Contract

I'm close to finishing a V19 Torrent Starfighter for JO. This is the starship that was seen in the Clone Wars cartoon piloted by the clonetroopers. This ship is based more off of the concept image than the actual cartoon.

I'm looking for someone to do the JA vehicle conversion. I plan to give this person a MAX4 file with landing and take off animations already done. Please post here if you are interested in doing such work. You should have some experience with JA vehicles, since I do not have JA.

I believe the polygon count is slightly lower than the Anakin JSF that I made a while back.

This craft is about 1500 verts and 2500 faces.

I would volunteer, but this craft requieres animation, and since the AT PT, I decided to give up on it.

Flying in JA doesnt really suck. You just gotta practice to get good.
Zymotico I was really surprised seeing this thread, I didnt really think that no one would do it. It looks awesome and I cant wait for this to be finished. Also I would like to ask you at this time if maybe in the future, that I can maybe get a beta release of the vehicle for my movies. Once again great job and keep up the good work.

Aww I was really looking forward to that ATPT, I hope you give it another chance in the future to work on it tfighterpilot.

Zappa, what kind of model do you need for your movies? At the moment I can only provide static models, there is still no takers on doing the vehicle conversion. I would do the vehicle stuff myself, but I don't have JA.

I just mainly want to use the vehicle when tfighterpilot gets it done. Im sure it wont take too much time as Anakins fighter did. But do you think you maybe could do some vehicle models for JOM in the future?

if you still need somebody to make it a vehicle in game, i could do. you wrote to have the model in max version 4, right? and the animations are done? so it shoulnt take very long to bring it in game.

Actually, the animations shouldn't be too hard at all. For matter of fact, it could have been done with the imperial shuttle's skeleton, but it would be quite easy to make it. If only the whole thing wouldn't mess up every time I tried to do animations (or maybe it was just in the AT PT)

Cool, Zymotico I was wondering if maybe you could do a Separatist Fighter and Shuttle as your next projects. Cause I would really like to use something else in my movies besides the Imperial Lambda Shuttle all time for stuff. So do you think you can do that and one of the vehicle people make it into a vehicle?

Well it has been out for about a month or so. If your not to busy, do you think you could make it into a vehicle tfighterpilot, cause I would really like to use it in my Clone Wars based movie.

Ok problem. The model's X-Form is f*cked up. I sent it to Corto and he's working on it. I really hope he'll succeed.

I think I found a fix, but it involves deleting all the bones and skin modifiers.

After removing all bones and skin modifiers, pick an object (for example the middle wing), goto the heirarchy tab, click on affect pivot only, and the click on the transform reset button, then click on affect pivot only button again to get out of that mode. Do that for all objects. Now select all objects click on affect pivot again, make sure to are in move object mode, now at the bottom tool bar type in the xyz coordinates of 0,0,0. All pivots should now be located at the origin.

Now build a new skeleton and weights, and hopefully it will be fine.

I think that's what Corto did. So he sent me the mesh only, and I replaced the original mesh with this one. Then I reweightened it, compiled it, and it was still messed up, EXACTLY the same as before.

Ok, the model works, but as usual, one problem is left. The animation doesn't work. It just stays in it's starting state. I can see the animation in modview, and I copied the animation file from the x-wing (though changed it a tiny bit)

Some help here will be hot.

I think I know what the problem is. I checked both the X-Wing and Lambadda-Shuttle models and saw that there is a bone called ship_bone, maybe it's needed. Cuz when I looked at the V19 in modview, I saw that all the animations are red, when they should be blue.
