"fog"

Hey guys, I need a shader which I don't know how to do. Its a fog, but actually not so in the shader. Because the fog I need is NOT transparent/translucent. It is completely opaque, and I need it to be moving. How do I do this?

Fog doesn't move because engine doesn't allow that.

Actually its not really fog. I'm making it a picture of a fog. Let me rephrase. How do I make a picture play on a brush? Better, how do I make the picture SCROLL across the brush?

Wedge is correct. I have seen fog in JK2 maps that do that. So YES, it can be done.

My kung fu is also very weak

Ok, I found the thread (why didn't you give me a link Vogel? ) and I used tcmod scroll, and it works perfectly. Thanks

Druid, cos I don't have time to do searches for other able-bodied people :P and I couldn't remember which waterfall thread had it on :P

See, you found it though, without my help, well done

You can also use weather effects to create "puffy" fog if you will.

You will need to setup weatherzones for this - check out the sticky tutorial on www.map-center.com.

A quick way of seeing this is to open the console and type:

R_WE HEAVYRAINFOG or

R_WE FOG

The more you type it in, the more gets added.

This fog swirls and twirls and generally looks okay. If you set it up in Radiant following the tutorial, you can add a _color key to get it to blend in properly with your map.
