Damn... that looks beautiful. I fired it up last night and played a bit and I think I'm definitely gonna give it a go once I get back from my trip this weekend. Good thing I'm only a half hour in, I really want to restart with the Complete 2009 mod now.
Thanks, jon!

Nah, by then I'll be back in Norway. We've got some good shows coming up in TO though, like Kreator/Voivod/Nachtmystium, Immortal, and Weedeater/The Gates Of Slumber. Also, Alice In Chains, but it seems impossible to get tickets for that show without paying scalper prices.

Lmao, they even have a guy in a bandana. The mohawk-dude in the background is the only thing that distinguishes them from Nightwish. I think they even had the same guy design their cover-art.

Well. While we're talking about "acquiring" and "really good things"...
Played around with the Beta today. Not enough to give a definitive review, but it most definitely feels like Starcraft. Lots of fun so far.

My very good thing for the day: I went on an ******* streak with a Striker on Domination on Favela on MW2, we had B and C, they had A and were attacking B. I just sat in the room to the right of B and Striker'd at them, 7 kills, harrier got me 2 more, 2 more Striker kills, Chopper Gunner, it got shot down, more shotgun (total luck too) and bam, 25 kill streak.
It's a good thing that gun is totally fair and balanced.

Took the kids to see it in 3D yesterday. It's a very enjoyable film, and Tim Burton's wonderful imagination is all over it, but the end was too much like LOTR Return of the King. 4/5.

You could, you know, get one. I have two, for Christ's sake!
EDIT: I suppose there would have to be enough PS3/360 exclusives to get you to buy one.

Only about 4 hours in, but I am enjoying it for the most part so far. I have not played any other FF games except III and IV for DS. Graphics are great even on a standard def tv (I am at parents' house and my hdtv is at school), so don't listen to the people saying the 360 version looks much worse than PS3. I like the battle system, though there have been a few times where I'll die and I won't know why since it seemed like I had full health. Also, there are SO MANY CUTSCENES. Like, more than any game I have ever played I would say. And so far it is completely linear, though I knew that going into it (and that is not always a bad thing). It's supposed to be 60+ hours though so I will probably have more thoughts down the line.

I heard that you don't really have full freedom to escape from the linearity until near the end of the game, which is a bit of a bummer, but seems pretty standard in the modern FF games. I just miss the classics like FF7/8/9 where you could fly around and explore the world map freely. I wish they would bring that back.

I'm not going to start playing it for a two weeks or so (after finals). But I got this from Goozex for a cool 1000 points and $1... I'm inundated with Goozex points right now, even after getting this I still have around 4000 points.
I also decided that I should own physical copies of my favorite albums. So I started out with my single most played album according to my Zune account.
and another that was available at the record store I popped into today:
To-one-day-buy list:
Mastodon's Crack the Skye and Blood Mountain,
Megadeth's Peace Sells and Rust in Peace,
Valient Thorr's new album that they're recording right now,
and Kyuss' Circus album.

My friend Mike is a dumbass. Let me explain.
After buying Mass Effect 2 he said after he beat it he'd let me borrow it. Three days after it came out he called me to say he beat it, but he didn't get the perfect ending, so he was playing through it again. Then he failed to get it again, so playthrough number 3 was started. Once again, he failed. He started playthrough number 4, and then stopped playing. For a while. Finally I called him out on it, and mentioned that he had FFXIII and Dragon Age Awakening on preorder and had just bought Bad Company 2, he wasn't going to be touching it for a while, and he finally let me borrow it a few days ago.
Well, I just beat it on easy (I always run through games I know I'm going to enjoy on easy first and then go through on retarded difficulty because I have more fun that way) with my first Mass Effect Shepard, a male Vanguard. I got the perfect ending on my first playthrough. Mostly due to the fact that A) I'm not an idiot, B) I'm a completionist whore and upgraded the Normandy fully and did everyones loyalty quests, and C) I'm not an idiot.
To be fair, I guess if you're not a completionist whore like me it's possible to not get it, but at the same time, if you're truly a Mass Effect/Bioware fan, you're a completionist whore
