Rhen Var

Where in the movies where Rhen Var? Isn't this a game to play battles from the movies?

They put Rhen Var in so there were enough planets for the game.

something on Rhen Var i got from a site

Rhen Var is a fictitious planet from the Expanded Star Wars universe. It has an icy surface similar to that of Hoth, being covered with snow and ice. Ancient Jedi monuments are buried beneath the surface of Rhen Var. Rhen Var was once a fertile paradise filled with vegetation and wild life. Millons of years ago, an atmospheric cataclysm turned it into an icy hibernal surface. During the Clone Wars, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, or the Separatist army, seized Rhen Var with an army so big that the Republic base had to evacuate the planet. Obi-Wan Kenobi informed the Jedi Council about the seizing of the planet. After the Liberation of Kashyyyk Moon, the Republic retook Rhen Var. After the The Great Sith War (4,000 BBY), Ulic Qel Droma sought refuge on Rhen Var, and he is buried there.

Yeah, I really want to see them. I put my e-mail in at Amazon.com saying I would like to see this product. If they get enough people they will bring it to DVD.

Only one of the Rhen Var levels is awsome. The other one isn't that great.

They are defintely coming out on DVD. Last I heard was November/December (just in time for Christmas). But that was a while ago, so that might have changed.

There will be another season of clone wars too which will be aired in May (shortly before the release of EP III. Probably to tie up some loose ends for the movie)

THe existing clone wars episode are 20, and were about 3 minutes long.

The new ones coming will be way less in number, but much longer (12 minutes). I imagine this is also probably due to the fact that they will be showing them in May, but want to have it completed before EP III ROTS is released in theaters.

Sorry but you are wrong. Rhen Var was an ice planet that Ulic Qel-Droma exiled himself on. This was in the "Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi" comic series from Dark Horse (Redemption # 2 if I am not mistaken)

Yup, started in the clone wars games.

"During the Clone Wars, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, or the Separatist army, seized Rhen Var with an army so big that the Republic base had to evacuate the planet. Obi-Wan Kenobi informed the Jedi Council about the seizing of the planet. After the Liberation of Kashyyyk Moon, the Republic retook Rhen Var."

was all in the game. Information vital to the survival of the republic was stored in one of the Jedi tombs. That's why the separatists invaded the mostly barren planet, and thats why it was imperative the Republic recapture it.

God is a placebo with nasty side effects.

Nope it wasn't started in the Clone wars game. It started in the Dark Horse comic several years ago. I have the comic. See for yourself.

http://www.wheelon.com/comics/redemption.htm

read the synopsis for issue 2. It mentions the planet and the publishing date (1998)

If the above is correct then Rhen Var will be seen in Episode 3.

Continuing off topic........

I heard rumors that Lucas is going to add a snow planet for Ep. 3. Maybe Rhen Var will be it. But all the spoliers I have read and heard have not mentioned Rhen Var.

I've heard mention on here that Rhen Var is the Episode 3 planet that is supposed to be in the game, but it very well could be Kashyyk

It is. On the official website, www.starwarsbattlefront.com, It listed all the planets and all had a little movie to go with it except for Bespin and "Ep. 3 planet". Later when the game came out they filled in Kashyyyk in it's place.

Rhen Var is in Ep3. I'm not quite sure if you guys noticed but I'm a hard core star wars fan and I check the the lucasarts.com website alot and when I goto Battlefron homepage and take a look at the planets earlier it says Episode 3 planet it was replaced by Rhen Var. Plus, I tihnk it was mentioned on theforce.net but I know for sure Rhen Var is in Episode 3 and in the cartoons. The cartoons rock. the 3rd episode is my favorite as well as the last 5 or 6. Can't wait for the new ones to come out.

Sorry Mr. Hardcore Fan, but Rhen Var was there, with a movie, while we where waiting on the Bespin and "Ep. 3 planet" to get updated with a movie. When the update came Kashyyyk took the place of the "Ep. 3 Planet" place. Ask anyone that has been on the forums waiting for this game to come out. I visited the new official website the day is was updated from the old one, which was back in August. No where has it been confirmed that Rhen Var is in Ep. 3. But Kashyyyk has been confirmed. That is where Chewy comes into the story. And in all the spoilers I have read and seen, Rhen Var is in none of them. I have heard rumors that a ice planet may be in Ep. 3, but it's just a rumor.

Yes I too have read the spoilers and seen a partial script for the movie. Not too give too much away but the planets that will be in the movie will be Kashyyyk, Naboo, Courescant, Tatooine, Dagobah, and some volcanic world (the name escapes me at the moment). At the moment the spoliers and partial scripts don't even mention an ice world. But of course that can change.

Oh and for the last time, Rhen Var was NOT in the Clone Wars Cartoon! That ice planet was called "Ilum". Perhaps you remember Yoda saying "To Ilum we must go!" I taped all of the episodes of the clone wars micro series and trust me it is called Ilum...NOT RHEN VAR!! Don't believe me? Go to the Star Wars page and read the episode 15 plot summary yourself.

http://www.starwars.com/clonewars/mi...hapter/15.html

But in case you don't feel like clicking on the link here it is....

Padmé's head of security, Captain Typho, believes that going to Ilum is too dangerous. He tries to convince Yoda not to go, but the ancient Jedi Master is committed to rescuing Luminara Unduli and Barris Offee. Once the ship lands on Ilum, Yoda sets out in the snow, alone. To enter the sacred cave, he must first defeat a battalion of droids.

There it is right there. Episode 15 and 16 of the Clone wars cartoon series were the only episode where they visted an ice planet and that planet was called Ilum.

rhen var WILL NOT be in ep 3.

it is an e.u. planet, the game and the comics that's it.
they WILL NOT put an already established planet in ep 3 besides Kashyyyk which lucas has had since the beginning. all other planets will be NEW.

If the above is correct then Rhen Var will be seen in Episode 3.

You know that joke: "how many months got 28 days?"
All of them. It's the same here. You take part in original and pre trilogy, tatooine etc. That is a true fact. They did not say: Only pre and original, or "not EU material". And I wouldnt really make conclusions about what a gamesite says, they usually simplify and generalise.

So conclusion,
Players take part in epic battles from both the original series (Episodes IV, V, VI) as well as the prequel trilogy (Episode I, II, III

Yes. And also an EU planet Rhen Var.

Rhen Var existed long before the clone wars game on the Xbox came out. It has been part of the expanded universe for quite some time.
