Uh... those are actually the standard lightsaber and shortsaber hilts being used by the PC in that pic... they are far from new. The Zabrak NPC is using a Staff.
I think that OE is keeping them under wraps, I'm sure once the Xbox version gets released in December we'll have a better Idea of the new saber hilts... if any.

Well supposedly in KOTOR:TSL they are going to have differing saber hilt models but OE is keeping that under wraps like a lot of the other stuff they are doing.
We all know whatever they do will be very cool!

i hope they do have new hilt models, the ones in kotor1 were a bit plain and boring, so it would be cool to see some new ones. can't wait

This catagorically and undeniably sucks!!!
EDIT: This feature is nothing OE couldn't add into the game in a few hours, even if they simply made each saber hilt different depending on the color, at least when we got to modding the game we would have several hilt models to work from by hex editing the models.

well if they give the model format perhaps something can be worked out
That Staff held by the Zabrak is in KotOR some of the Rakata used them and there are also Massassi Staffs that never were in the game anywhere. But you can cheat Or add them your self

I did see one new hilt, the light saber was HUMONGUS! And it was NEVER in KotOR 1 on PC. I am not kidding, it was HUGE! REALLY THICK! It wasn't the hilt, but the blade. It went up a little, then OUT and up.

Obsidian seem nice enough, I guess.
The problem is Lucasarts... they don't like us modding the kotor games for some reason.

Oh well. I don't particularly care one way or the other. The hilts are so small you would hardly be able to tell the difference anyway...

I agree with Prime. Besides, after playing through the game how much attention are you really going to pay to it anyway. Most of the time it'll be swinging around and you won't get to see it in detail anyway.

I agree with Prime and Hannibal too. I prefer to see Obsidian putting emphasis on the storyline and character development rather than on goodies like hilts that are just additional eyecandy that you barely see. In my opinion, it doesn't really add much to the game. I think the overall result will be pretty good from waht we can see from their website
...and T7, your force pike is there!
