[Community Request] Blaster Rifles ideas

Well i own't promise you guys anything for certain, but i'm planning to replace the standard low poly & blurry weapon models with nice higher poly ones ( with new textures ofcourse, altough i'll need alittle help with those ).

First up are the blaster rifles.
I could just use the current blaster rifle model ( for both 6 blaster rifles the same model is used ) as a reference but...
A) I want to make 6 completely different looking blaster rifles.
B) I don't like the original blaster rifle ( dusn't look like a rifle, but more like a carbine )

Now to do that i need your help you guys.
My current attemps to create my own designs have failed horribly...so that's why i ask those with a creative mind to draw a blaster rifle(s) ( from as meany angles as possible plz ! ) and post the picture(s) here in the thread. Those who's design is selected will recieve the propper credits.

Also note, please don't ask me to remake the blaster rifles from "the empire and rebellion" age because i won't do them...yet. First this pack, then i'll see about those E11's....

If you want to see a little of my previous work :
( note : these are 1ste person FPS models, not third person ones )

Dude, the last link in your pictures lead to this thread and the first 2 do not work for me..... And I suck at drawing here are some of of the web...

But here you(it is not colored) go, are you happy, I hope you are, cause cause this is more than enough!!!

I realize these are "real" guns and not Star Wars, but I think you, eith some adaptions and "modifications" could really make something out of them...

Hope it helps -Adam G.But

Oops, sorry, oh well.....

*goes of into corner and waits for next oppurtunity to get a modern weapon mod in the game*[j/k]

It is just that your pictures look like modern guns, maybe that is why....

Wow! Those are top notch.

I love it when the "lurkers" here finally reveal themselves for what they are. "Oh, by the way, look at my damn near professional quality models."

As for the rest of you "lurkers" with super-human abilities, come out of hiding!

Really Nice Model's. Im glad to see another modeler Here. But when you say "high poly" How high are you thinking. Don't forget that some people's PC's already crawl with KotOR KotOR's weapons really don't have to be as high poly as your FPS models sinse they will rarely be seen up close.

I like your idea of replacing Bioware's 100+ box models. If your stuck for ideas though why not start with the models bio made and copy the style then make those with more detail.

I would keep the models under 1000 polys though. But who knows KotOR Might not mind the High poly weps.

Well i was planning to keep them below 1000 polies anyway, since their world models

Well...about the remaking part i'll give it a shot...but still...i'd rather have differant models, not just differant skins.

whatever you decide to do, i wish you the best of luck.

ideas: you could do what t7 suggested, except maybe make the models more realistic. the rifles, for instance, look like elongated pistols. i've always thought that adding a stock would help it look more realistic. the heavy repeating blasters look okay, but the textures look like a bunch squares and rectangles on top of a model (which is what it is ). i agree that having a more detailed texture would add a lot. some users may have problems, but still, i think it would be worth both the time and the effort. good luck!!

A idea for you is to make a insta-kill heavy repeater as the pistol just looks weak on Mandloran Assult armor.

I was bored after school so i quikly made this blaster inspired on the KOTOR blaster rifle...if you don't like it, don't worry, i'll prolly just remake the old blaster.

It has 500 polies.
Construction time : 45 min

Wow! Those look great. I really don't use blasters that often, but I can definitely see how these new models would add a little more realism to the game. Hope to see more from you in the future.

BTW: Any chance you know how to crack the animations?

^^^^what he said. plus, i think those look much closer to the e-11, maybe as kind of an old predecessor.

ok 1.for 45 minutes of work then you are not simple moder you'er a pro photoshop artist much like Master Svosh 2. I most of the blaster but may you can cut of the end part of the stock or what ever that is.

Also I would love to see a real weapons mod some of the weps would be: BAR, AK-47, M-16, and stockless Uzi. HK will then be able to mow down countless jedi because bullet travel fast than blaster bolts and can't be seen will out high-speed cameras.

I love being a gunsmith! LOL!

Totally replacing the heavy repeater by a BAR or a .30 Cal would be nice.

A concept is an idea, or in this case, a base for the model.

Well since there is no real idea that i like for the blaster rifle and that i want this project to get running i've decided to start with other weapons. First Vibroblades, blaster pistols, ect will be created. Since those are easy to design.

First up is the blaster pistol.
I've made a quik sketch of how i'd like the standard blaster pistol to look like.
