TATOOINE: IMPERIAL GROUND ASSAULT (Version 0.9 Test) RELEASED

The Imperial Army have landed at the
remote planet Tatooine on the outskirts of Bestine
with the aim to crush any resistance they encounter
and take control of this influential city.

The Rebel Alliance ,however have
learned of this invasion and sent a fleet to counter
the Emperor's plan's for domination.

Will you join the Alliance and save
the peoples of Bestine or fight for the Emperor and
crush the Rebellion?

cos its an infantry only map ....the ships are there to give the impression the 2 factions landed in them from the capital ships in the sky.

OUTSTANDING!

That was great stuff - utter mayhem!

A few glitches but very playable - you should have seen my face when I saw the troop count! When I ran up during the initial breakout I just knew it was gonna be good.

Thanks mate , i think its fun . Im currently working on lots of improvements and ironing out glitches.

iv already improved it quite a bit . cant wait to get 50 people on it in multiplayer with some bots aswell.


this is my 1st ever mod and im definatly goin to more (my next map im goin to do is the Geonosis arena ....iv had a practice go and i know i can do it )

It would help me loads if you made a small list of glitches and improvements that could be made to enable me to make this the best i can .
please be as specific as possible .

dont like it

I like the bandu map but i preffer the map of =km=lagmachine.

Ok, things I noticed (that I can recall)

X-Wings had 'floaty' bits (?)
When going under the sandcrawler, character 'vibrated'
CP in Sandcrawler never changed colour - is this a destroyable one? If so, how? (Sorry, me = no0b!)
When I rounded the corner the Rebel CP (extreme left as Imperial forces look at the map) seemed packed with about 40+ Rebels in a small area. Is this deliberate?

I reckon you could turn down the 'troop deployment rate' by about 20-30%... game would last even longer!

workin on the xwing problem.

the sandcrawler needs lifting off the ground a touch .

The yellow cp is / was for the jawas ......iv removed it now and used an invisible CP (i knew this was possible (mos eisley) but didnt know how to do it at the time - its sorted now)

The AI is dumb cos i dont know how to work the hub/connection/path yet ...working on that (top priority)


Did u notice that Jawas had no sound/voice? this is corrected now ....also when you kill a Jawa it just says 'so and so killed ' it now says 'so and so killed a Jawa'

Im currently working on the missing map name when you select it .(also in the final version the full name will show up on the left mission menu)

Im working on a flythro video for the mission selct screen aswell.

Im working on the camera angles for the spawn countdown screen .

amongst others .

Alright now this is a battle!!!! Everything about this map is awesome. Lots of NPC's, lot's of Rebs and Imps. Good use of vehicles. Great stuff, man! Only things wrong are what others mentioned above, as well as the AI but other than that, this is easily the best map yet.

i cant see the map... i have extract in in the addon folder but it isn't there. all other maps ive downloaded worked... what is wrong?

It's not the upper level modTAT folder you need to install... dig down a level or two and install the next modTAT folder.

i loved this, it took over an hour to play one game. I think that it took a bit too long to get anywhere but I can't find much else wrong, this is great.

Yeah, this is the most epic map i've played yet out of the whole game. This is pretty much what i envisioned for a star wars battlefield game. I heard you can put even more guys as well as vehicles onscreen at once and there would still be no loss of performance. I'd like to see what Lord_Bandu could do with a map that involves air vehicles as well as land with the same number of combatants if not more.

Tyler_Durden im currently working on improving the Tatooine map .
Iv just started work on a Geonosis arena ,im working off the movie as much as possible and iv got pics off the net. Itl also have a large troop count and im gonna add the basic droid into the selection(but im not sure who to drop out tho) . Its gonna have an outside part where players can grab one of those republic transport ships and fly into the arena(like the movie ) ,and some air vehicles for the cis to combat this (altho i will be putting the emphasis on the actual arena) . im hoping to use the Hoth tunnels and changing the texture to a dark Geo colour and using a few lamps to light them slightly(plenty of laser fire lighting up these tunnels ). both factions will start with maybe 1 or 2 cp's which will be inside forcing you to run out into the arena floor. 1 CP will be in the centre of the arena floor with others dotted around inside the tier tunnels and high up etc etc.

Any requests, ideas from you guys would be cool.

i had an idea for a clone wars or rebels vs. imps map that would mirror the omaha beach level in BF 1942. But instead of a large carrier , you would start off on a star destroyer for clones or a calamari cruiser for rebels. Imperials would essentially be the nazi faction at the top of hills with gun emplacements as well as a tank. Possibly even tie fighters and xwings. Speeder bikes and skiffs would take the place of the water troop transports. Basically a mirror map of the omaha beach level but set in the star wars universe. I would have done myself but i'm having problems settting up the editor as i don't want to change my file system to NTFS just yet so i can't use it right now so if someone wanted to collaborate with me i have other ideas.
