You know what word connotates "Electronic Bass Machine"? TECHNO. Yeah, sorry, but eletronic bass machines tend to be used in Techno. If you said something like Guitars and Cellos I'd think different. But what you just said supports my catagorization.
I don't understand why you guys would get all defensive about it. Techno's a respectful type of music. Yeah, there's some crap in it, but there's crap in every genre.
There's no earthly way of knowing which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing? Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing. Are the fires of hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? Yes, the danger must be growing 'cause the rowers keep on rowing, and they're certainly not showing any signs that they are slowing. AAAGGHHH!!!

It's no big deal. I just meant you won't see too many foam parties and neon glow sticks at a Velvet Acid Christ concert. VAC is pretty dark and evil. Too dark to be techno...

I have just got back from a Nightwish/Tristania Gig, Superb! Tristania were really good compared to what I thought of them on CD, and Nightwish were amazing, probably my 3rd best live band ever, just beaten by Iron Maiden (2nd) and Evergrey (1st).
I give this gig a 9/10, and urge anyone who has discarded Nightwish simply because it is the latest "Mosher" trend to like them to see them in their live environment.
Listening to you, I get the music
Gazing at You, I get the heat
Following you, I climb the mountain
I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you, I see the millions
On you, I see the glory
From you, I get opinions
From you, I get the story

Lately I been into Marvelous 3 and Butch Walker's solo stuff. I love the sorta darkly ironic lyrics smeared with punky/classicy styled rock.

I can not wait to see Tristania with a longer set at Wacken, and Nightwish in all their glory in the headline spot!

If I can convince my friends to shell out the £140 for the festival, I'll hopefully be seeing Sabbath live this summer.
As long as Ozzy doesn't do anything stupid in the meantime...

I saw Canderia and Otep last week. They were very good.
THe best concerts I've ever seen, in chronologicle order:
Dimmu Borgir (the first time, when they were less famous)
Primus
Alice Cooper
Primus probably beats the rest.

The best gig I ever saw was Evergrey's set at Bloodstock 04, amazing band, i give them about 9.9999999% for perfection, especially how i had very little of their stuff before the gig.
Which fest is this Lucastones? Download? Cos Ozzy isn't playing Wacken, atleast not to my knowledge!

I love Evergrey, but I've never had the pleasure of seeing them perform. Midwest US Syndrome.

Yah it's download... my friend told me Sabbath were playing, cos he has his ear to the ground festival wise, and I didn't think Ozzy would be in the line-up, but he told me it was in association with Ozzfest or something, and Ozzy was definately gonna be there.
Not that I mind either way, Sabbath were great after he left too.

I like my good ole fashioned Japanese music :P
Ayumi Hamasaki is good. About anyone that composes for Inuyasha.
But in all honesty, Japanese Pop music is a cool genre. However, I find it hard to tell rock and pop and all the others apart when it comes to Japanese music, so, I consider it a big single genre
Oh, and Metallica and The Offspring are cool too.

Oh yeah, I went to Spain once and on some octopus platter they were serving life. Actually, it's not that good. Stick to the gazpacho.

This is a complete non sequitir, but I hate Turkish coffee. Anyway, to get back on topic, here are some albums I recently purchased (and got for my b-day):
Reign of Light - Samael
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Arthur Brown
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me - Angelo Badalamenti
The King and Eye RMX - The Residents/Paralyzer
Animal Lover - The Residents
The Impossible World - Combustible Edison
Until the End - Kittie

Their uber-early stuff (early 90s) was pretty much so-so death metal, but then they started using synthetic drums and by the album Passage, a very good album, in the mid-nineties they were like industrial black metal. Then they did Eternal, which I was very disappointed with, guitar stuff got too metallica-ish for me, but then there was a huge ebb in creating albums. They just did Reign of Light and I gotta say it's really good. Kind of Rammstein and Skinny Puppy meet Old Man's Child, with some Persian music thrown in. I highly recommend you checking them out. Just don't get Eternal or any album before Passage.

Bola has a new album out that I cannot stop listening to. Seriously, even if you're not into electronic music I think anyone can appreciate this album. It's gorgeous.
