Excellent!

Finally we get to see the pictures, and read the artical.

While that is great though, Prime, could you kick LexX's butt for not posting it here?

Then tell her she's an absolute peach for taking the time to post them.

well if you look at the first pic on the 3de page it does look a bid like BFME... mumakill= imperial walker, orc army = stormtroopers
trols= at-st, snowspeeders= eagels ...

but space is looks totaly a blast.

Ackbar, if that was the case I would say that BfME looks like SW: EaW, as Star Wars was visualized before LotR.

Okay... No idea what Ackbar is talking about with the units. but I guess the first few screens look like the fixed camera angle view in BFME. But the others are in various angles so.... whatever. Looks interesting. So far.

Oh and Jan Gaarni Technically LotR was visualized before SW. Not in Movie form but in the art that went with the book (which was long before SW) and the movie based most of it's visual design from that art.

looks very good...sadly the starfighters are larger than I thought they would be...but there is still a lot of development time n' stuff.

WOW...I can't believe it...TIE Crawlers are actually in the game! That's AWESOME! I thought they'd be history after they didn't show up in GB. I mean they WERE already semi-established thanks to the books and the vehichles and vessels guides.
That's totally awesome...man...this game is already blowing me out of the water...and it's just a little alpha game screenshots. DANG I WANT IT!!! O_O

For legal reasons I have chosen NOT to post the scans of the magazine. It isnt officially on sale in the UK yet. Only those who subscribe to it had it early.

The Lucasfan network have a great rapor with Lucasarts and I would rather wait for them to confirm it and send us exclusive screens and content.

Im glad you guys have seen the screens because the game is shaping up to be amazing. Even this early code shows that.

I just wet myself...

and I do notice a resemblance of the stormtrooper squads to Gondor archers (How they're lined up in groups), and the large group of stormtroopers reminds me of a battalion of Gondor soldiers/archers. That's the only resemblance I see, and by resemblance, I mean squad positions and stuff, not the actual units.

And I just wet myself again looking at the space battle pics.

AWESOME!!!!

Life sized buildings, defensive turrents, space dogfights, massive capital ships, superb ground battles, real lasers!!!! and not the weird SWGB lasers!!!!

I'm overwhelmed...... Windu will be crawling back after he sees these.

Information is still very limited. There hasnt been no announcement from Lucasarts. I expect that at the end of January or early Feb.

Either way, we will be getting our exclusive screens, designer diaries, Q&A's etc

Like ive posted elsewhere.

Lucasarts will probably annouce this beauty either end of Jan, early Feb with a release around November. Although its a very complex game compared to Galactic Battlegrounds, the timeline is the same.(Feb announcement and november release for SWGB - UK)

This game has been in development for some time, creating the engine etc so it will be this year. There would have to be something serious to make this slip.

Well, devs are getting more and more aware of the fact that revealing games early and then pushing them back all the time leads to frustration. For example AoD III was announced this week, release is second half of 2005.

Ya I saw that...it'll be REALLY interesting if both games are released about the same time...because I figure AoD will get a bigger draw than SW...but then again, who knows really. I know which one I'll be buying anyway...at least...I think I do. DANG IT! Musket firing lines are cool too...darn. Well...I'd by them both if AoD was Civil War...but somehow I think i'll end up skipping it in favor of SW. Skipped AoM painlessly, I figure I can do the same for its next of kin.

BTW, since there are like 4000 darths on this board, just go for Fergie or Ferg

Well, I know I'll get both. Though I am afraid I might be looking more forward to AoD, simply because Ensemble has a very special spot in my heart (AoE was my first pc game)!

Hmmmmm......

If they both come out at the same time, it will definitely be a strain on my finances. AoK/AoM and SWGB are my favorite RTS games of all time, so it'll be close, but I know I'll be getting AoE3 (ES confirmed that there would strangely not be a subtitle, so its not AoD) the day it comes out, but I may wait on E@W. I was kinda hoping for a larger scope and some semblance of an economy. This game seems too much like force commander for me.

And all you guys who are excited about these screenies, go look at AoE3. Not to start trouble, but they blow these out of the water.

Those scans are sweet, I notice a considerable amount of EU in it as well, I'm happy they have seen the light and put in Interdictors to add strategy, I was worried it would have all the strategy of rock paper scissors
