All I have to say is....

wowzers. I looked at the new screenshots from Gamespot.com and I have to say the graphics look very very good, much more better than the previously released screenshots at 1up.com. The space battles look like they are going to be awesome, especially Endor, and Hoth looks kickass as well. I can't wait for this game. The only concerns I have is if any of the heroes like Vader and Luke will be included and how building troops will be done, like if you have to collect resources or not, because believe or not, I like to collect resources and have at least some micromanagement. But still the game looks great, and it might be one of the best RTSs ever released. It might even be on par with AOE3. I'm going to buy it the day it comes out.

whoa

i just looked at the screenshots of the game....now i have to use the bathroom...looks like a way-better Force Commander....just hope they do it justice this time. (i loved force commander, the storyline was awesome, but...the ai wasn't too great)

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

The graphics are good, very good. Often they are bad in RTS when are very near to the troops, vehicles and ships.

i think its interesting to note that this game currently ranks #1 on gamespot's ranking system. definately not bad for a game that was officially announced 3 days ago.

edit: erm, umm, i meant 2 days ago....

Ok now the graphics officially kick AOE3's ass. When zoomed in it looks more like a RPG then a RTS

Retreating adds something special; and I also like it they speak of "gathering resources and then a battle", which is common to some RTS and I'd like it otherwise a bit.

Also the balance surprises me. In a game you always need to balance the power of a faction. In the movies rebel had less and now they have less power technology-wise.

Game looks very promising

Very cool indeed. It seems that multiplayer will be a sort of "Conquer the Galaxy" mode as well (and GS confirmed the simultaneous space/ground areas)

Yes, that is hitting the point. I know Battle for Middleearth, it is good but when you zoom, it is not the best.

Sorry Froz, the pics are better than the magazine ones, but they aren't as good as AoE3. Doesn't matter cause niether can run on my computer.

Shame you cannot run them but maybe you will when the time comes to release. I think it has better visuals then AOE3 plus the old system is getting old and overused for AOE3's sake I hope they revamped the engine.

Since the textures were not finished for EaW and those were alpha shots, we can't really say. AoE3 does have really nice lighting effects though as opposed to EaW that doesn't have any.

Actually if you look at the space screenshots, you can see the ships have shadows, especially the Star Destroyers. Look at the command tower casting a shadow over the rest of the ship.

My mistake

But I still think AoE3's lighting effects are nicer.

Don't pull a Windu and start bashing a game without a lot of info

Don't do it

PS:I know you haven't done it. Just a reminder of what could happen.
