New moderators!
With the vBulletin 3 upgrade finally making some serious progress (I ended up doing it myself after all), the whole network is going to feel the shuffle. Designs on every single forum are going to change, slight structural changes are going to happen, and a bunch of other good stuff that you'll see in a matter of weeks hopefully.
But one of the first and foremost priorities is making sure that active communities have active moderators, and unfortunately this one doesn't. Since the upgrade (plus some other horizon stuff that you'll see when it comes) has the distinct potential to bring some extra life into here, I selected two people that I'm sure everyone knows and loves to make sure that no nasties come in and explode the forums.
So, VampireNaomi and JofaGuht will be your new moderators here. I'm sure that you'll all play nice so that they don't have to go and kill you, but they'll be around to keep peace just in case a riot breaks out or something. Give them your hugs. ;

Even though you mentioned this to me I almost had a heart attack a minute ago when I noticed what had happened.
From now on I will be an arrogant bastard who knows that she's above you all and will make sure that everyone else knows that too. Now I only bow to Thrik, no-one else! This little piece of victory is only the beginning! Soon I will take over the entire site!
Uh, I mean... I'm your humble servant.

Congrats Jofa and Naomi. A shame that the other mods drifted off, but it's really awesome to see people still posting here after so many years. Now can someone tell me how to get Grim to work in Win NT? Kind of embarrassing since I used to be the mayor of this here town webmaster for the network.
Guy.

I'm not sure of any specific advise to give Met, although this archived page may shed some light. ¬

As usual, I will point the blame for this squarely on James's signature.

I bet that a few weeks or months after Psychonaut's release this place will be full of life. Those who complete and like P'nauts will not doubt think "This Schafer guy is genious! I want to play his other games too!" and eventually get familiar with GF.
And then they will all flood into stores, buy all available copies of GF, LucasArts will have to make new copies and they will say "Hey, this adventure stuff sells well after all! Quick, hurry! Let's make a new AG while the market is hot!"
Erm... what do you mean by I'm not being realistic?

Eh... this forum is too thin (with the side bar). My sig fits on all the other LF forums .

[6:19pm] Thrik: If it messes the template up then it might be an idea, since people will notice and you will be assasinated by an unsuspected member who doesn't like his template being stretched.

But, sorry to anyone on a really low screen resolution who's screen i mess up

This thread has derailed from my initial derailment.
Anyway, I doubt you fixing your sig will make Grim Fandango run correctly in Win2000 for me, but I recommend giving it a shot!
Okay, back to talking about how great mods are! Or whatever!
Guy.

I'm flattered to be chosen and all, but the Grim Fandango fans are friendly enough I doubt I'll have go and use my new forum superpowers on anyone. I've just never seen any behavior in this forum that's really needed to be moderated. Now, if you want to talk about the Pit o' ye Damned, that's a whole different story.
There's no earthly way of knowing which direction we are going. There's no knowing where we're rowing or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing? Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing. Are the fires of hell a-glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? Yes, the danger must be growing 'cause the rowers keep on rowing, and they're certainly not showing any signs that they are slowing. AAAGGHHH!!!

I saw this topic and I thought "VampireNaomi and JofaGuht, I'll bet." So either this stuff is incredibly predictable, or I have psychic powers! (Obviously the latter.)
Congratulations, and happy battling with pure, wretched evil moderating, you two!

That's true. The people who post here tend to rule. Thrik and I burned out the few undesirables shortly after the forums reopened here. Remember Bubblylupe/AdmiralCasaba? Anyone?
Guy.

I'm such a n00b that I have no idea who you are talking about. Let's gather people around a campfire so that you can share a story or two.

Wait, there were moderators in this forum?
Anyway, congrats Jofa & Naomi, you two deserved it (I'm not sure why but you just did)
